Toyota Dealer Misdiagnosed this Transmission
This 2004 Toyota Camry had a supposedly bad transmission. The dealership "diagnosed it" and sold the previous owner a new car instead of a transmission job.
The symptoms were no reverse, no first gear, slipping and struggling when going forward, the ABS and brake lights were on and the speedometer was stuck at 20km/h.
After diagnosing the speed sensors, transmission solenoids, fluid and fuses, it came down to disconnecting the ABS module to rule it out of the equation, and the transmission worked fine! The ABS module was sourced easily from a junkyard and is just 4 bolts and one connector to change. That's all it took to save this Camry from getting scrapped!
Hopefully this helps someone out there who has a similar issue.

Check out my new engine TV stand! I made it from a VQ35DE Infiniti G35 V6 engine, with the pistons mounted to support a 6mm piece of glass.
