Warren Zevon, Raspberry Beret, David Letterman Show, 1990 HD
Warren Zevon from 1990, on Letterman, playing a Prince Song that was featured on his new album, entitled Hindu Love Gods (which was also the name of his new band, formed with REM minus Michael Stipe).

What are the greatest and underrated pure genius rest his soul❤❤❤🎉😊
Extra cool version😂
Brilliant, of course.
So silly! I love it! Remember this being played on Dr. Demento.
Fresh from the music scene today
Warren should be in The Rock Hall Of Fame! GENIUS!
I wish I could have seen him live!
Warren covering Prince is something I didn’t know I needed
Absolute perfection…….
This is blowing my mind...
A good version of this song.
Great songwriter knowing how great Raspberry really is
Someone have AC/DC cover Lawyers, Guns, and Money and the world will know how genius Warren Zevon is
Something about his voice makes this sound like one of HIS songs. It sounds so GOOD!!
Warren will kick your ass every time.
Big Warren fan.......first time seeing this
LEGEND
Tore it up, didn't they ?!
Hey where is REM?
Fan fucking tastic
Oh wow double take
2024 and his cover Rasberry Beret sounds like he did it yesterday! It’s so awesome to read all these great comments about Warren 30 years on, appreciating his music, his talent and his personality. Warren will always be an original, the excitable boy, they all said. RIP Warren🥀
Saw Warren live in Peoria! And it played very well!
Dave was absolutely right about Zevon And proof that Prince was one of the greatest guitar players ever.
Dangerous cover to do but this was great. Can see why Warren would cover it with the storytelling lyrics
Never knew this existed. I like it
I was in HS when Werewolves of London broke big and Warren Zevon got a lot of press. There was a critic in one of the rock music magazines (there used to be several, and it wasn’t Rolling Stone) described his sound as “if you got drunk and played the piano by shooting the keys with a 44 Magnum, you’d sound a little like Warren Zevon. Just a little.” If ever there was Pulitzer worthy writing, that was a great example. No Internet back then, you just had to hunt for media about the musician you were into. Werewolves was an instant classic and put Warren on the map forever. He wrote and performed music like Hunter S. Thompson wrote prose and lived. We miss you, gents. But we’ll always have what you created.
Well put.
I'm liking this cunt more, the older I get. Just a fuckin' real SOB.
Wow! Love, it. ❤
Miss the Worlds Most Dangerous Band
Wonder what Prince thought about this version, it's the tops
Excellent. And yet another example of why Paul Schaeffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band are truly the best in the business.
I always rock em on my motor cycle
Why is he not in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is outstanding
Because he did not write this song, it's a Prince cover.
@@einundsiebenziger5488So your argument is that Zevon isn’t in the Hall because Prince wrote Raspberry Beret. Interesting.
My buddy Years Ago. Dude. You sing. He went out of his way. Out of his appreciation for Warren. I'm now obviously passing on the message. A 😎 dude. Taken away. Probably happy 😊
Subbed❤
Prince was a musical genius. But Warren's version is better, ballsy delivery, rock'n band , everything Prince couldn't do.
Look up Poor Poor Pitiful Me.
Look up Disorder in The House with Bruce Springsteen.
Sounds like a song WZ would have written
Lyrics all fuc.... up.
I think I like this version better than Prince's.
Calling Warren underrated is bonkers. Those that know, know. He’s way under appreciated in my estimate.

Everyone loved Prince. 💜
Awesome. Prince would have dug it
My first time seeing Warren cover this Prince song. Wonderful version, and he makes it seem like it could have been written by him. Great combination of singer and song. One of the rare nuggets of gold one can occasionally stumble across on TH-cam.
Just heard this on Underground Garage. How I missed it all those years ago is beyond me. What a cover.
Lucky to hear this right when it came out. Great intro. Even more amazing realizing he was covering Prince. Love the original, but Warren sang this bearing a sledgehammer. 💪
Same!!
Damnation, McGuane and Zevon. Two geniuses…….
Nailed it!
I assume he saw talents in Prince he respected.
That was fuckin awesome!
