    How much tunnel modification was needed to fit the 545RFE?

    • @scottboden99
      @scottboden99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to widen the tunnel about 6 inches and lengthen it quite a bit. Also had to fabricate a custom trans mount.

    I remember being 19 years old and my dad took me to put $200 down on a red Plymouth duster. Unfortunately we never hit the car. But it definitely was a project. Instead I ended up getting a 1986 Monte Carlo.

    i remember on farm in ohio , my father driving up in a brand new 72 Gold duster white in gold trim 318ci Man the brand new interior smell just plain sweetness. what with our landlord owned the Chrysler dealer in town I remember him going to his cabin on weekends he would always have something different in the lines of the Chrysler Imperials or New Yorkers just gorgeous lines and memories simple times and benchmarks of an era long ago.

      I have a 75 Gold Duster, White with the gold stripes. She's in original condition, still has the local dealer's (at the time lol) sticker on the trunk lid. I still have all of the original paperwork for insurance and the original title. Interior's a little rough but she's hanging in there. 73,000 original miles. Just finished a 318 swap with 727 trans and 8 and 3/4 rear out of a B body. About to put on some 360 E58 heads.

    Between this video, maybe a few others, and abodiesonly.com..... i am also goin gen3 hemi in my duster... nice video!!

  • @Hendogg28
    @Hendogg28 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems like the car transmission would work better as it is smaller than the truck trans. I keep looking at doing this build in a 69 dart. But I would really like to keep the power steering but haven't seen any way of doing so with the gen 3 hemi's in an A body.. I've seen a few builds where they used the stock manifolds from a car to gain more clearance..

    • @scottboden99
      @scottboden99 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The NAG car transmission is smaller, but does not have a slip yoke. You can run a 904 or 727, but I really wanted the overdrive for highway cruising. I ended up using a borgeson power steering box to get power steering.

      Thank you, and I have a question about the swap itself. What did you end up going with for the accessory drive? Are you running power steering and A/C? I am looking to just run the alternator and water pump with no power steering or A/C and wanted to see if other guys did it and how it worked for them.

    • @scottboden99
      @scottboden99 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have power steering and A/C, but they can be eliminated in a variety of ways.
