We only talk facts.
Your weekly, or even monthly, training volume is like a budget. You only have so much budget to spend. You can increase your budget by dialling in your nutrition and sleep. Usually more of both is the answer. This heavy feeling you are having in your legs while running is the transient decrease in performance that you experience after strength training, this is a normal part of the SRA cycle. But your comment about being mediocre (which you are not) at both is spot on. Maybe you are being too hard on yourself? Are you comparing yourself to yourself from last week/month/year? It all comes down to what training adaptation you are trying to get? Hyrox you need to be reasonable at every aspect of fitness, which seems to be exactly where you guys are at.
Using the budget analogy is a great way to describe it. I partly agree that we are hard on ourselves, however we have high standards/ aspirations to try and be our absolute best in anything we do. Our Hyrox training will pay off in October. Appreciate the comment and the support.

Happens to all of us at times. There’s a difference between motivation and discipline. Motivation comes and goes. Discipline is doing the thing you said you would do, even when you don’t feel motivated to do it. Master discipline. Put yourself first before everything.
100%. It's an insurance policy. You should be aiming to look after yourself for as long as possible. The NHS is a mess largely because people don't take care of themselves. You don't need to go to the gym either. You can do a lot with dumbbells at home. Walk, run, cycle, swim too. Whatever works for you.

the whole environment was suited to give Kipchoge a better chance at breaking that 2hr barrier but regardless, to be able to run that fast for that long is by no means an easy feet. When Rodger bannister ran the sub 4min mile that was on an old track… these days 16year olds do it most days on the new improved track. The science has just got better, not the runners.
With that being said then Sean, do you think as humans we are 'capped' to only be able to run, throw or jump certain distances unless we have the support of further science?
