I enjoyed the first 2 seasons, although I was often confused more than frustrated by the changes, they were often needless and took away from the story. Season 3 has been really frustrating and feels a chore to watch. Understandably a story that long needed to be abridged and altered to fit, but the romance between Vex and Percy doesn't really work and seems to have been told backwards. The flaws of the earlier seasons seem to be mounting the comedy increasingly doesn't work, the plot is evermore confused, and everyone acts like a buffoon, constantly complimenting and fawning over each other. It seems like the worst parts of sticking to the original and changing the story. Could've done without Pike deciding to become her own god, that was hard to watch. There will be fun to be had but I don't think it's for me anymore and hope the folk that stick with it enjoy where it goes, but I have lost interest in even finishing the season.

my guess as to why they kept Percy dead was cause, well, if he also dies during the Thordak fight, why resurrect him if he's going to die later? with that knowledge, this change makes sense as it would lessen the impact and show the audience this world has no stakes if our main leads can just be revived like (*snaps fingers*) that. but they can do it now- they'd just have to find a way to make it like a one-time only thing.

I don't think Fjord was really getting cold feet. The way I see it, he doesn't want to do a quick ceremony "in case they die" because that would be the same as accepting that they're probably not going to make it out alive. And that's not the mindset Fjord wants to enter this battle with. Better then to have a wedding to look forward to, with all the bells and whistles he knows Jester wants.

True, there was no Tiberius and guest player characters (except Zhara and Kashaw), no Kraghelmer Arc and Vax did only used a Paladin ability once and this is just lazy writting

After Phb 2024. I decided never to buy another Wizards product. Dm guide looks useless as usual.

I was more shocked by Pike's desition to throw away her amulet of serenrae

They couldn't resurrect Percy cause Percy's soul was stolen by Orthax, when Ripley killed him (that also happened during the campaign), and Scanlan ending up in a coma is a nice change from the awkward Bard's Lament, that wouldn't fit the tone the series has been using.

There is also the fact that the raven queen isn’t the one who has Percy’s soul, Orthax is, since Percy was killed by one of his guns and we can see one of them glow seconds before his passing. So keeping orthax and Ripley alive may be an indication that vox machina may have to go after them to get Percy’s soul back.

I'm sure Percy will be back. But still, daaaamn.

With the new changes some of the characters got some character growths. Percy dead will we see him in the afterlife.

SPOILERS. The blow up fight is absolutely going to happen. No question about it. Pikes going to use blood magic in a ritual to wake him and Vox are going to bring Kayley to help by singing her song that he wrote and he will be fucking pissed that they did that, because he told pike not to. There is no way in hell that “What’s my mother’s name!?” Will not be uttered. The set up is clear as day. But thats just a theory

Spoilers I don't believe Percy and Scanlan died vs Thordak. They both died in the 2nd Raishan fight, where as Vex and Scanlan died in the first Raishan fight, both resurrected via revivify. Pike was tapped after the 2nd Raishan fight and could only revive Percy, but not Scanlan. This led to the whole Bard's Lament.

I'm guessing that instead of using Wish to bring back Vax like in the campaign, the Party will possibly use it to bring back Percy?

The DMG has always been a reference work, not a tutorial resource. Learning how to DM from a book is like learning how to play guitar from a book of chord diagrams. Learning to play a TTRPG is, and always has been, a social activity. In other words, you learn from your peers while you play. Likewise, you learn how to DM from your DM (and that includes learning how to use the DMG to assist in your duties). If you're expecting the DMG to teach you how to DM, that's a problem of expectations, not of book content.

Excited for the Blood Angels to hit Space Marine 2 somewhere down the line! Also, if Kill Team gets more Space Marine specific Chapter teams (like the Night Lords have gotten for their Nemesis Claw Team), it would be really cool to see Blood Angels (as well as other chapters) get some love in that as well.

Blood Angels are my favorite 40k faction! Excellent overview of them!

I’ve been busy reverting parts of 5.1 to 5E since some changes are plain terrible. I buy them all anyway because I’ve played D&D 1-3 a week for 35 years so feel it’s a small price to pay.

You say in the video that the price is $60 but that is not correct. The price is $50. It is $60 for the the physical + the digital. $50 is still the same price they were charging 10 years ago which is cheaper than anyone else and I think is a great deal for this.

As a new DM with no previous books, I'm excited to get my hands on these 2024 physical books because of how well structured and tailored they are for me to start my game with my new players. Those 2014 books were daunting when my DM friend got me to create my first character. I'm sure I'll use 5e tools in addition to the book but imo if you're playing DnD you gotta have the physical copies of at least one version, whether it's 1st or 5th etc., they're inspiring books to own. I'm very happy with my PHB 2024, I think it's beautiful and it has so many spells, I do wish there was more species lore, roleplaying info, and tables for character creation but that's an easy fix with the internet and imagination.

I also criticized the Bastion being for players, but in the DMG. A counterargument someone pointed out is they are an optional rule, and if they were in the PHB they would be assumed to be core (and not optional).

To be fair, Greyhawk material was pretty skimpy in earlier D&D, too. Most of the lore was from the adventure modules and monster manuals.

Magic items shouldn't be handed out till level 4, not give 4 plus 3 uncommon and 1 rare bty level 4. Bastions and optional content should be in the DMG. Putting it in players handbook makes it feel like the player gets to choose, and 5e is WAY overcorrecting in favor of players over the DM, and 2024 does this to an extent that makes nobody really want to DM. (which they probably want for Project Sigil)

I am glad they reorganized the 2024 DMG. As you said, there is plenty of great sections in the 2014 DMG. Just you had to find where those things were on your own. I imagine a lot of those random tables that I really enjoy from the 2014 DMG have just been copied and dropped into the 2024 DMG. But I hope they have made a point to either give them a fresh coat of paint, add more to them, and/or add some more tables to help inspire the DM.

@5:30 I think they implied that DM's shouldn't give out magic items BECAUSE the magic was in the sub-class of most characters. I remember looking for this and not finding it. Then there was something about MONK at 6th level (I forget) having the ability to hit creatures that don't take conventional damage (non-magical slashing, bludgeoning, piercing) with their fists, so I used that as my guide that everyone should have a +1 weapon by that time... because no one should be weaker than a 2014 Monk.
