Looking forward to your LotM review. I'm reading LotM 2: Circle of Inevitability as well as House on the Cerulean Sea. You read so many pages in a month!
i hope you find the right audience, you might be able to find more viewers if you get a better mic! a little hard to hear sometimes <3 good luck!
Thank you! I'm trying to improve my audio quality, sometimes it freaks out and I'm not sure why. But your feedback is very appreciated! :D
Love the artwork for this. I read these books too long ago but I still have a strong impression of them, will be keen to see your reviews on them in the future.
Yout book collection is absolutely beautiful!❤ I want to wish you a great 2025 full of health, money and love😂
Thank you David! I hope you have an amazing 2025 as well! 🙏 may our book collections keep growing and getting more beautiful 😛
Myself, having read ten books or so, I think the best ones are the ones that focus on DEATH. Great review :)
Yeah, I think once I finish a few series I’ll do a ranking of the series for me, but I have the impression the Death one will be high up
@AndreAlvesAlmanac obrigado :) boas férias. And keep those reviews coming
Why is your copy of oathbringer red on black? Looks cool
It was a random edition they printed out in some countries only, I got it by accident 🤣
Hey Andre! I want to start a book club for SciFi/fantasy. You might already be in one but I'll hit you up in the new year to see what you think! Hope you have amazing holidays!
Hi Tara! That sounds like a very cool idea, keep me in the loop ☺️ and hope you have an amazing start of 2025!
Is she the one that wrote Kindred? I def did not like that book. A lot of people told me this book was good but I have always been an skeptic. After watching this review, I have today, I am glad I never bought it. Not my cup of tea.
Yes, she also wrote Kindred, although I've never read it, have it on my list. I do think this book is good, but I can also see how it might not be for everyone, it's very contrasting in people's opinions
My personal rating of each book: The Fall: 9/10 Blood and Fire: 8/10 Darkness and light: 8.5/10 The Exile: 10/10 (easily one of the best novellas I’ve ever read in any genre, period) War and Ruin: 9/10 Overall series score so far: 9/10. Super consistently awesome and each novel just gets better and better. I think he’ll be able to hit that 10/10 novel with Empires and Dust. This is my 3rd favorite ongoing book series behind Stormlight and Sun Eater, and it has a chance to be on my top 10 all time fantasy list
That's super exciting to hear. I think you just bumped up War and Ruin on my TBR haha
🤤🤤🤤
Please do a long video with a recap of the unboxings. I want to select my favorite ones.😊
Thanks for the suggestion! Might just do that, the ultimate competition of the special editions 😎
I read this trilogy a long time ago and it left a powerful impression on me. The artwork on this looks amazing, makes me want to re read it with fresh eyes
Best Greenbone saga book.😊
A Memory of Light da GOAT 😊
The review of that one will come soon! 😁
Love the art 🎉
The colour of magic is in Prime! It's really good watch 🎉❤😊
Nope, no, no, I wholeheartedly disagree with your rating.
@@lapatti that's totally fair, what about it does it make it a great read for you?
Great art! I've only seen the TV series, never read the books, looking forward to the book review sometime
That is a beautiful copy. You are really selling me this subscription. It is exactly what I would like my collection to look.
I couldn't recommend The Broken Binding more, their editions are always amazing. Especially when they do editions of your favourite books. Maybe one day we'll have a Wheel of Time one 😛
Thank you for your commitment, I can only wish you salud, dinero y amor. 🎉 I really dont know how you were able to finish this trilogy😅 It was a DNF for me.

This was a good book to end the slog. Lots of good and interesting story developments! Reading got fun again 😄
@@mikec4424 right at the right time, before the build up for the last battle!
I can barely hear you, but the books look interesting.
@@KChurros oh no 😓 hopefully the audio is better next time. Have you read any of these?
Oh hallelujah! Audio is like a 100% improvement!
I like the new microphone! Sounds good so far
this looks so cool :O
Grats on the 100!!!
Hola André! Congratulations on your channel growing. I am definitely cheering for you! I am not a fan with prequels and I think that unless they are treated as revelatory flashback important to the current plot, prequels lack stakes or significance, because they come after the fact. This book has not changed my opinion and suffers from hindsight being 20/20. However, there is always the series and I think they should include an episode or maybe 2 about this book!
Thank you David! And I can totally see what you mean about prequels. It's really risky to do them, A Day of Fallen Night was in theory great, but in practice lacked any stakes because of exactly that. But I agree with you about the series, they should include a few more parts about the prequel in it
I read this one at the end of the slog and it was so good 😄 Both to explore some very enjoyable back stories as well as to get rid of some slog fatigue. Actually liked the second half of the book more, and as it was getting to the end I kept hoping that the story would cover even more developments.
Thank you so much for this video! I like how personable you are in this. Can't wait to see how you grow in this channel
Thank you so much! For subscribing and the compliment! :D
Looking forward to the 100 sub video special 🎉
Currently half way through Of Darkness and Light! It is so good.
It gets even better towards the end!
@@AndreAlvesAlmanac well that excites me!!
The Gathering Storm: Finally! you are awake! How did you read so fast during the sloth? Impressive The Dragon: No idea, no clue The Rise of Endymion: Yeah, I agree, where is the plot? Crossroads of Twilight: ZZZ Skyward: Fun, light, easy read New Spring: Malazan is better! lol Valour: Oh my goodness, need to know what you think. Oh nooooo, it is a filler, pass! Knife of Dreams: One word! AMAZING!
I don't think even I know how we managed to read so much WoT in one month 😆 thank the buddy read for pushing that one. I am almost done with Rise of Endymion and slightly disappointed with the plot, still an amazing book in other categories though As for Malazan... Soon 😜
Pretty artwork as always, and I really like the map 😋 Thought this book sounded familiar, you've reviewed it before!
For the TV series, i think Moiraine and Lan were perfectly cast and played. Nynaeve and Egwene were good too. I did like how they portrayed the one power visually! But the battle of Falme was a letdown. Plot wise although i enjoyed the show I didn't really like all the deviations from the original story. I can understand they had to condense and shorten many things though so I'll be looking forward to see what else happens going forward.
Grouping the books into unofficial trilogies is a neat approach to it, and I can see how the stories group together like that. Moiraine was definitely a memorable character for me and her story too.
I like the new setup with the double bookshelf! I was expecting more following on from the cleansing as well, it was a bit of an anticlimax after the ending of the last book. Although, in the end i did appreciate exploring the other characters and story arcs, but it definitely wasn't as enjoyable as previous books.
@@mikec4424 thank you! I think the different arcs are good so we get a sense of what's happening in other parts of the world while the cleansing happens. In hindsight, I reckon if we had extended the cleansing while exploring what was happening everywhere else would've been a great approach to it 🤔
Oh André, I am sorry mate. That is the problem of the middle part of the series, it just gets booooring. It is the main problem with the series that it starts strong, then it sends you sleep only to abruptly wake you up and give you epic moments. One more book and things get good!
@@daweithisisdavidinmandarin6121 100%! It's starting to pick up and get a lot better now. Can't wait to post the reviews for the next ones! 😁
omg this is the best lmaoooo!!!
awesome video! I think I will read the first and second book over summer <3
I bought the audio book done by Rosario Dawson. It was fun and well crafted. Congrats!
Ooh I might try the audiobook too then. Thanks for the recommendation!
Hola André, you are such a good reviewer. You have a good energy and also you explain your experience in an exciting way. I am reading another series from John Gwynne at the moment but have been curious about Malice. Your review has truly expanded my curiosity and maybe I can jump into that series. On another point, your book reviews in both short and long format have thought and care, so I def want to congratulate you and wish you the best. BTW, you are reading a lot, I don't know how you do it!
Thank you so much! 🙏 I promise to keep trying to deliver good content 😊 Which series of John Gwynne's are you reading? Is it good?
I need to read some of these, I was thinking of Guards! Guards! first.
Witches Abroad is probably my favourite, I've read nearly all the DW and other Terry Pratchett that aren't DW, there's just something comforting about it and I always come back to it.
You should read The Prestige it’s an epistolary. Really short, but then the movie based on it is a must watch. It’s about two rivaling magicians
Omg how didn't I remember that? I've read it and it has such an amazing ending! It's a great recommendation
Another great review, this was the one that got me hooked all those years ago.
Once again, I am the first comment and hopefully a new subscriber will come. My problem with this book is that the author kills people just for shock value and it is the kind of technique that I don't appreciate, because it does not resonate emotionally and it does not increase the stakes, it is just a waste of a character. The great thing about this book is that the mythology is actually cohesive, logical, it makes sense. It is also interesting and if I may say surprising.
Yeah, I can see what you mean about the killing of characters. I agree, some of them are killed just for shock value, which sucks a bit, but overall I still enjoyed it. The big thing of this book is the mythology, I agree, it's so interesting and I hope the third one delves even more into it.
She reminds me of Naga Siren, very cool
Definitely slogging!!!
Any plans for the Murder Bot series by Martha Wells?
It's on my TBR! Just need to actually get the books haha
