Welcome to my channel!
I am sure that you are wondering where the name of the channel came from so let me give you a bit of background.
At 25 years old I was very independent and thought that I had most aspects of life all figured out. I was usually busy with work or coaching and rarely left time for myself to rest but I figured that the harder I worked the farther I'd get. Well fast forward to July 3, 2016. My family drove 4 hours to pick me up and take me to the ER. On that day I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
For now, I have to do insulin injections and blood sugar checks on a daily basis. The "IN" in Independence stands for insulin. "DEPENDENCE" because my body relies on me giving those injections for survival. The "25" stands for my age and the common joke of a "quarter life crisis".
I am learning that it’s okay to need/ask for help. We all need someone but I have learned to look to God first. Independence also stands for the day I no longer have T1D!

There is nothing that I love more than a good adventure! The world is here for us to explore and learn from so that is what I will do for the rest of my life. I have had to slow down on my adventures due to the dangers of hypoglycemic episodes with type 1 diabetes and an ankle surgery also slowed me down for a while but I am ready to get going again. After talking it through with many people I ...

It’s been a crazy long time but I am giving you an update on the latest happenings and will try to do my vlogs normally again.
Good Luck they are amazing! My DAD has saved me many times(I do not have a cgm) he keeps me pretty steady..I only check 4 times a day and maintain an a1c in the 7s
I'm sorry about your ankle injury but I'm glad you've been able to get active again. I hope you will be able to get a diabetic dog as that does sound helpful. Thanks for sharing.
joanfan Hey without challenges you don’t get any stronger. I’m glad to of been able to comeback! Yes the dog will be extremely helpful and I appreciate the well wishes! It’s going to happen, I’m putting in work to make sure 🙂
