    I’m just now in the process of getting ready to go to Germany for my back surgery. Tim has been wonderful helping me make this happen. I agree, both the United States and Canada are way behind in this type of surgery. I’m so happy for you and your husband! I’m 64 years old and I still have a lot of things I want to do in this life. I’m going to need multi level back surgery to be able to do those things. Thanks for posting this! -Paul

      Lumbar? How did it go?

    • @whydidwedothat

      @@brians2328 it’s only been 15 weeks since my 2 major surgeries at Pro Spine. I still have a lot of debilitating nerve pain in my feet from the time I wake up until I take my sleeping pill at night and go to bed, but they said it can take up to a year for that to go away as nerves only grow about an inch a month. I’m doing physiotherapy and walking a lot. I pray to God every day that he will help me get through the pain. I lost 28 pounds, trying to gain weight back as well.

    Dr. Bertagnoli patient here. In 2007 he fitted the ProDisc-L @ my L4-L5 Level, and I couldn't be more pleased. Here I am 12+ years post-op, and can honestly say ADR surgery saved my life. After literally 2+ years of pain and TWO failed discectomy surgeries, I woke up pain free following the procedure. Extremely pleased with the results, and should probably get a 10+ year Xray sent to you guys!

    Kindra, it has been 7 years now since you did this video and had the surgery, so how do you feel now? are you pain free in your back legs? what symptoms did you have before the surgery? and what do you have now 10 years after the surgery? Thank you deeply if you answer my much needed questions..

    This woman was my neighbor in the hospital in Germany. I had a 3 level ADR in my neck hours after her surgery. She has done really well and so have I. We are now nearly 4 years out from surgery and are healthy, active people. What a gift this surgery was!!

    Glad you're improved. My Aunt had fusion at two lower lumbar levels in august of 2007 and it's been one problem after another. Her fusion has now caused complications in her upper lumbar requiring more surgery this summer. It's been difficult. Be thankful for your good fortune!

    Thank you for your testimony, I am going to have this procedure on June 9, 2010. I have only seen one person complaining and would not recommend this surgery (out of the countless videos that I have seen) Once again thank you...you look great!

    @tvicknair thank you for your prompt answer but I'm still wondering how much this surgery cost. I'm sure a lot of people have the same question.

  • @tvicknair
    @tvicknair 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jairodxseven Dr. Bertagnoli will do the lumbar version of the the spinal kinetics m6, but the patient chose the Prodisc-L, because it has a long history of success. Dr. Bertagnoli will also do the Acktiv-L disc. He has no contract with a single manufacturer, like Stenum does with the Spinalkinetics company.

    correctionnnnnnnnn when you said you you ADR I would like to know which model you got ? how long the surgery last? thank you.

  • @tvicknair
    @tvicknair 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    The orthesis (brace) is a safety device. In about 5% of the cases the ADR will migrate due to sudden patient movements. As a result of using the brace, Dr. B. has had no migrations due to sudden patient movements. Many of these movements and subsequent migrations occur during sleep. Better safe than sorry.

    Prodisc-C. No screws, no metal-to-metal contact, therefore no metal ions in the blood or liver. The new Prodisc-C Nova is the latest, which is specifically designed for multi-level surgery, semi-constrained and off set keel design with virtually no MRI artifacts. Best wishes.

    Dear ricksands52, We are always sorry to hear of people in this insurance situation. I strongly urge you to return to Washington to have your neck treated, or apply to Medicaid in California or if you have funds come to Germany for treatment. If you have a spinal stenosis, you must seek treatment immediately, because a spinal stenosis can be life threatening. Tim

    It is possible to repair them. Herniations are usually taken care of from the posterior approach, so I do not understand the concern over the lungs and heart. ADR is not done in the thoracic region for several reasons. So operations like an nucleoplasty or partial discectomy is the norm. If the disc is complete gone, may be something like a IPD can be used. I used European Medical Tourist to find the right doctor and hospital for me. They know the right people.

  • @tvicknair
    @tvicknair 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, I did not go to Stenum, but the big advantage of Germany is that the doctors are so experienced with ADR surgery.

  • @tvicknair
    @tvicknair 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    1. Stenum has far too many revisions (reoperations). 2. Many patients complain that Stenum doctors do not remove osteophytes during surgery, which causes problems later and is part of the standard procedure. 3. Many previous patients report surgery is like a factory line. There are more reasons, but I do not want to post them.

    Kamikazze24, the entry wound through the abdomen takes about 3 weeks for the majority of healing, depending on the skill of the surgeon, your physical condition and age. It is uncomfortable, but if the surgery is properly done it is not a big deal.
