I always do the biker signal when I pass by another biker. The one interesting thing I've noticed is that the only people who don't wave back seem to be Harley riders without helmets. There aren't that many of them, but they are absolutely consistent with this here in Wisconsin. As for me, I love the camaraderie of the biker signal. It really makes a person feel like part of a big family of fun people. Cheers to you both and happy riding!

@jinkelgroup1842 Go to the SPM Ferries website, you will see schedules and fares from St Pierre to Fortune (NFLD) or from Miquelon to Fortune ( NFLD). You can decide which direction you wish to travel and the times that are available. We traveled from Fortune to Miquelon and then from Miquelon to St. Pierre on the same day. Then we went from St. Pierre to Fortune when we returned.

This is where the Vikings landed in the first century. One of my relatives found the site. My relatives are from that area and came over from England and fished along this coastline. My great grandmother was Inuit which is an Eskimo. She lived in Labrador. Use a flat rock to skip. This is the coastline where icebergs appear. Remember it was just 200 miles south of the island the Titanic was hit by an iceberg.

After newfoundland u can go to iceland. I was there 2 yrs and I'm from newfoundland..it takes 3 months to go around the rock in a kayak..Ken did it and wrote the book around the rock.thanx folks

I was disappointed that you didn't really tell "what happened when we saw a real moose while riding on our Harley ..." In 1971 I was hich hiking on highway 17 north of Lake Superior, and got a ride from a fellow dr4iving a Honda 450. He told me that just a while back he was riding around 60 mph when a moose started to walk towards the road. He said he just prayed, and the moose stopped before crossing the road. I imagine a (300lb?) bike would be no match for a moose! P.S. In those times I owned a Honda 90 then a CB160, which I rode from Toronto to Lake Champlain.
@mathyeti We started to share the story and we might have missed the details in this video. We were riding along hwy 430 heading north when a moose was trotting along the side of the road. Mich was napping (yes literally sleeping, unbeknownst to Mark) when Mark yelled "A moose, a moose!" Mark honked his horn to scare it, then it started galloping. Mich yelled, "oh my gosh, it's so big, it looks like a huge horse!". Unfortunately, the camera was off and we didn't get to film what happened. It was Mich's first experience seeing a moose. Thank God it didn't jump into the road, we would be no match for it, on our motorcycle. Thanks for sharing your story, glad you made it out ok... we appreciate your support 🙏

For reference, taxidermy works by removing the hide and preserving it then discarding or eating everything else. After preservation the hide, antlers and hoves/feet are wrapped around a form in the shape of the desired species.

What's that supposed to show? Clouds going over the horizon?
Good question... When riding on the motorcycle along the mountains, you get the feeling of being a small speck of substance under the mass of clouds as you approach the horizon towards the vanishing point. It is a different feeling when in an enclosed vehicle.

@lisaj1590 It's a controversial question, but based on the perspective of how you see the vanishing point at the horizon, this stimulates the thought to ask whether you see it flat or spherical...

Few people know this, but up until approximately 1990 the highest wind speed on earth was recorded at the peak of Mount Washington. Not only that, the coldest temperature on earth was also recorded at the peak of Mount Washington. The mountain is an anomaly, it's geographical location the intersection of extraordinary high altitude wind currents. Generally speaking, the tree line on most mountain ranges is @ 11000. There is a reason the trees - and shrubs - vanish well before the peak, the last tree and shrub holdouts violently disfigured by the winds.
