A golf r is lifeless in comparison.
Hello. Greetings from Paris ! I own a defender 90 Td5 as a second car. Never been able to high rev it and up shift quickly like a Golf or a normal car. The gearbox doesn’t like it and blocks or grind the agressive up shift. Especially 1 to 2d, 2 to 3d. If I up shift slowly on low revs, everything is smooth. Gearbox oil is MTF94. Many thx for your feedbacks. Merci ! Julien
Rear Lights must have Orange Light up and Red One towards the Bottom... .
The embodiment of that old statement that elegance equals simplicity. So forgotten in the past half-century.
Oozes style, oozes class. That or a Maserati Sebring / 3500GT would be my dream Italian classic. I am rather envious :)
Hello David, you maybe interested to know that my Father was the sales manager for Rolfes of Romsey Hampshire, who were Lancia main dealers from the late 1950s.Although me and my brother were very young at the time,we still have very vivid memories of most of the Lancia range, but mainly Aurelia's and the Flaminia coupe, doing many trips to and from Hythe hants to Norfolk, one journey being completed in four and a quarter hours!in late 1963.My father later owned an Aurelia,in Blue with colume chainge and wood rimmed steering wheel as does yours, and although I was only ten years old at the time, can well remember many highspeed runs to and from Hythe to Christchurch, great days!long may you continue to enjoy your fabulous car.
Hi John, David would like to have a chat so if you email me bencarpenterbtc@gmail.com I’ll forward him your email address. Thanks, Ben
Yoooooo
Nice car
Great! Did you have realise a whole video about this Clio?
@@constantinrenoir8273 Not yet, it’s on the way though so keep watching!
@@allabouttheapex3825 Great, I stay tuned! :D
Damn
Really classy cars these Lancias! Particularly love the Aurelias!
and that lovely 2000 Coupe.....
It’s a very good isn’t it, owner’s a nice chap too.
Wow. I’m looking at one of these now. This is the nearest video I’ve seen to how I’ll react. Nobody trying to do a clarkson-esqus review, just genuine reactions. Roof down on a wet day is priceless as well. What a great video
Thanks mate, I like to keep it real. This Caterham is actually for sale right now…
Unfortunately, Schlabubvvo laws in EU will soon ban everything with engines, wheels and brakes because of fine dust and CO2!
Quando la Lancia (prima di essere fagocitata dalla Fiat) non produceva auto ma opere d'arte! Spettacolare!!!
May I ask what a spec like this costs ?
Cxvccd
Top.🎉
spicey
Respect for driving it in winter, there are some Caterham owners (The Polishers) who would have a cardiac 😅 I drive mine in all weathers, life's too short!
Couldn’t agree more 👍🏼👍🏼
I run my mint 62000 mile e46 m3 rare individual colour fully restored and refreshed underneath …alongside my 2021 Audi c8 rs7. 814 bhp. And I find myself looking forward to going out in the old classic. And gets so much attention at petrol stations now
Absolutely right, as time goes on the E46 becomes more and more desirable! Enjoy it sounds like you have a garage! 👍🏼👍🏼
Will anyone give you comments or looks in a golf r. No as every young lad has one and they look dull. The m3 a timeless classic looks amazing and you get comments wherever you pull up
The Golf is for sale and I’ve just bought a little screamer, keep watching…
I’ve owned a manual coupe for 8yrs now, they are hard work and always needing something to do or at least wanting to do, you really need to rev the m3 out from 3rd gear onwards it can still keep up with the best of them.
love the seats but I suspect they are not the originalones.
Those are the original seats
Simply my dream car!
Bellissima! Superiore! Elegante, Italiana❤
F80 better :)
Pinacle of a fabricator and petrolhead all combined!!
Depends on the person ,
This, of course, is an excellent point.
Remembers me of that one south park episode😂
Ahhh the forty eight….. the hipster wannabe middle aged man’s first and only Harley, usually just passed their test then it’ll be sold and they’ll never ride again
Pretty much bang on actually, an astute summary. I have one short life to enjoy as many facets of motoring as possible and it does not do well to dwell. That said the little forty is the longest standing toy to date and still remains today.
Ford had to change the GT40 as after winning 4 races in a row Lemonds changed the rules on various specifications of the cars.
Coolest car ever.
Old lancias are really different conceptually to a typical luxurious car. Rather than just throw the kitchen sink at it like a merc or bentley they went with the same minimalist ideology found in your sort of standard family unit. Only the quality of materials was incredible and vastly superior and so they were opulent and luxurious still but elegantly so. You didnt have a forrest in your car and that was a good thing. Comparatively these cars were the pinnacle of technology at the time and they were meant to be light weight. The first series car had like 75 bhp but was still good for 100 mph. Meanwhile jags were making 150 hp and only had 20 mph more. The power improved and so did the speed but its main goal was anyways going to be improving on its delivery of the intended aims of the first series. These are the kind of cars you take on fast 2 lane roads like highways in america idk abt england. These arent motorway cars. Google pacific coast highway. A road like that at 60-80 mph is where this car lives.
As Toby said, soon as you get in and start to drive you instantly get a massive grin on your face, ive had them all my life, i currently own a 2001 td5 90 and just love to get in and drive her....never gets boring, and the camaraderie between other Defender owners on the road is fantastic too.
Couldn’t agree more 👍🏼
E46 is more thrilling
I have a 2003 M3 with 66,000 miles. Nothing sounds like it
They do sound very good indeed.
It’s all about the induction sound and 8000 rpm
Golf?😂
Get nice 330Ci'05 ZHP WITH manual 6 speed. 3x cheaper and 2x more reliable. I got regular 330Ci'04 for about 7 years now and it is great car.
e46 cars are so much more enjoyable to drive. the VW cars are all just plastic junk that creaks on every turn...
I own one for 14 years ,I have not driven it for more than 10 years, but still in love with it... M3 =childhood love.... Golf =wife you want to divorce 💯
Haha!
1780kg is very much NOT the correct weight!
Yes it’s very much over the top isn’t it.
Well, no, the correct weight for a DCT coupe is closer to 1580kg IRL.@@allabouttheapex3825
Why don’t you tell us what it is instead of what it isn’t
@@harrisiqbal3608 between 1580 - 1655kg depending on spec and how fat your arse is.
The simple answer is if you can afford to buy and run an E46 correctly then yes! Simon 😀
Beautiful
That tuned crossover exhaust makes an incredible and distinct sound. The guys who drove these magnificent machines to victory were also a special breed. I liken them to the astronauts who at the time were risking their lives to take now primative units into space. 55 years from victory and this machine still looks current.
Here's the link to the video of David's Flaminia, did I mention it's for sale? th-cam.com/video/1Qwcqb3RtSc/w-d-xo.html
Also the interior is beautiful in the M3, The styling is beyond perfect, Build quality is amazing, And you will get up and go for a drive just for the fun of it, Very few cars left in the world where you will do that
True, I don’t do that with my Golf.
The e46 interior is exceptionally fucking beautiful, as is the e38. It’s one of the things that puts me off e36s - how good the e46 interior is
If you got about $45K and can afford the upkeep buy one! If not, you'll regret buying that car. Whether you buy it ready to drive or as a project car you're gonna pay some serious cash for it.
This is very true
You can get a nice one for about 15k£. I recently purchased one for 9000£, but needs a little work!
The golf drives nicely, but the e46 M3 is alive. It communicates everything. It wants to be driven. It wants to be grabbed by the back of the neck and pushed to the limit.
Oh I totally agree with that
