Great day out at the Henstridge Wings & Wheels fly-in. Had to do several orbits to allow a Seafire to do a couple of runs & breaks, but enjoyed a bird's eye view of it. Busy radio due the number of movements but all very professionally handled by the team at Henstridge. Lots of classic cars and visitors despite the showery weather. Recommended as a great place to visit.

A great trip to the LAA Grass Roots Fly-in at Popham on 2-Sep-2022. Video shows an overhead join with left hand circuit for runway 03. The tall tree on short final is a bit off-putting :) My landing window was 10:30-11:00 local time. I landed at 10:35.

Flight from Popham to Alderney on 13-May-2022. Approached Alderney from the North via ORTAC and joined right base for runway 26. Total distance was 107nm with a flying time of 46mins giving average speed of 140knots (161mph).

Wadswick airfield is a “farm strip”. It is smooth and well drained, runway length is 630m x 25m but there is a slope for the first approx. 50m. There is a good country store and restaurant (The Forage) on site. Landing fee is £10 as a donation to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Testing wooden stiffeners on the main landing gear legs to see how the resolved our problem with shimmy / vibration. As you can see the problem is largely resolved. By filming from behind we were trying to detect side to side oscillation which might indicate a tracking problem due to bent legs. There was some minor oscillation but nothing severe.

Test flight on hard and grass runways following installation of wooden stiffeners from Flyboy Accessories (RV Gear Leg Stiffener Set). There was a noticeable improvement in shimmy / vibration but it was still present at slower speeds on the hard runway.
