I have just finished the book, I started 4 days ago and couldn't put it down. I found it a delight, hilarious and not at all complicated for a crime mystery as some can be. I loved all the characters and loved the way Gary interacted so uniquely with all of them. I found myself relating a lot to Gary due to his obsession of wanting everyone to like him all the time 😂 I really hope Bob has got another novel in him!

I thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I thought it a cosy crime mystery, that had a steady gentle pace to it. Sometimes a plot can overwhelm the reader by trying to be too intricate. This however (in my opinion) struck the right balance to accompany the authors trademark whit. I’m really looking forward to seeing if he has another novel in him for next year

I admire that you persevered with a book you clearly didn’t really enjoy. I couldn’t read something if I didn’t enjoy it.

I loved the movie of Perfume but not read it. I really hope you enjoy it. My mum is reading Library of the Unwritten and is really enjoying it. I definitely need to pick it up. I hope you enjoy all of these ☺️☺️

I read Blood Sugar & This is Going to Hurt last year and loved them both.

How many books do you generally read a month? That large one looks like it would take me the full month to read on its own!

Thank you so much for taking part in Scoobyathon 💕💕 you smashed it especially with so many books I didn't know The Bone Season was a 9 book series I thought it was a trilogy 😅 I have A Good Girls Guide to Murder on my shelves, heading you couldn't put it down and loved it has me wanting to put it up in my priority. I love the movie of Warm Bodies but didn't know it was a book I need to try and find a copy. I liked House in the Cerulean Sea but I would definitely recommend Under the Whispering Door as I thought that one was better personally 🙈

I was planning to buy the book, maybe wait until its 99p on kindle instead 🤣. A friend gave me two James Patterson books and I was looking forward to reading them they are his old books. So will read them as they are meant to be good but this one will be kindle deal I think. Heard too many negative reviews.

Thanks Hannah, after hearing your thoughts I’ll stay away from James Patterson books. I was thinking of maybe trying it, I loved Daisy Jones & the Six, but from what you said I don’t think this will be anything like it.

I picked this up in Greenwich while I was on holiday. I definitely didn't buy it for it's size as I was traveling for 5 weeks but I couldn't resist it; I wanted something that would last, something I could invest in and really get my teeth into. I hope it's battered and curled by the time I finish it. I've just started part 2 and I'm already excited for what's next! Following one of the main protagonistsIt's Jack, I was so surprised and weirded out to be reading about places in London which I'd literally just visited that day for the first time, like Notting Hill, Shoreditch, and a monument on the Thames I'd never been aware of (Cleopatra's Needle). I'm a little regretful not covering my ears when you mentioned the ending, though. I feel a little involuntarily prepared for a sad ending now. I hope it's as unexpected as you said it was. I'll comment again once I've reached the end. Thanks for making this review.

Thanks for this interesting review. I read the book a long time ago and now I think I should read it again. I've watched a lot of the movie versions. This year it was the musical with Kelsey Grammar playing Scrooge. It's a heart warming story.

You could film a readathon video for XX but I'd suggest more than 24 hours as it's huge! 😯😯
