I appreciate this review because I have a similar experience! I love how light and small this headset is and I’ll forgive how long the wait for the audio strap has been now that I have it. But I also find the visual unsatisfying due what looks like reflective glare - even though there is no light leaking in from outside. I have a very wide IPD - wider than the widest setting on my Quest 3. So I’m curious if that may be the issue. Like you, I didn’t get it professionally measured and am wondering if others get perfect visuals with the IPD set perfectly?
It comes down to the limits of the lens and panels. The lenses are tiny and magnify the panels so much because the panels are only 1 inch so that glare will always be present. The best result would be to get your eyes as close to the lens as comfortably as possible. See if you have room to get closer to the lens and then that blurring around the edges gets pushed out more to the side. Talk to support about getting a thinner cushion 🤙🏼
did you look at the instructions beforefor putting the headset on? kinda looks like you broke it because you forced the headset on without ratcheting the speaker arms out first. in any event the thing i find most annoying is that very thing. i have to dial those two speaker arm knobs everytime i want to take the headset on and off. they should've made a quick release.
The wait times are enough to talk me out of buying one of these things.

Welcome to the game :). There's a steep learning curve but if you stick at it you'll discover so much it gets very hard to put it down! The PVP can really get the blood going similar to how clutch gameplay can in other FPS titles. On top of that, the game can be utterly hilarious when you've had enough of the serious fight-for-your-life stuff. I noticed you played PUBG and I think that's a good comparison, actually. Watching a few guides before next time would make a big difference just getting off the ground -- I recommend Ryan6daysaweek. The game is also having a big content drop on the 6th with the new wipe so good time to be starting! Good luck!

Love that this game is getting hate. It's hyper realistic. The complaints on sholdering the weapon or aiming is pretty real. Novice shooters aren't like competition shooters or law enforcment/military. People get handed an actual gem and still complain that games are full of adds, broken like COD now, pay to play, slow paced. Take the game for what it is. I can't play this, but im glad game devs are actually trying to do research in weapon function, the way different light environments affect vision, mussle flash, and movement. Love it but cant play it
maybe if it wasn't per to per connections, i'd feel safe playing, at what happened to GTA5 and RDR2 MP simply because of it

@@SangiinKherem A game still in development because the developers actually care about the project and are puttijng time into it. This game is, as he said, just riding on the hype of Unrecord. They just took the concept that made Unrecord so fascinating and slapped it on a really generic pvp game, rushed it out for a quick buck.
It's almost like UE5 sells assets to game developers as a way to make money and to make the game development 100x easier and faster, almost like the whole purpose of the assets is for them to be used. Mind blowing, I know.

Even if it cost $500 only for the headset and you're one of the 99% world population whom doesn't have lighthouse tracking sets nor short cord headphones then is the worse deal product ever made that you need to order online in separated sites to make the damn thing work 😅
i think it’s very specifically targeting the market of people who already own the index and want an upgrade which seems to have been a much higher amount of people than anticipated given the lack of ability to keep stock with all the orders

bro i just saw this video... where is the update video man?? I watched SOO many non-sponsered youtube videos on the beyond and they always talk about the pressure on the nose bridge. How is it now?
Got mine last week and it's not that good... If you want a good fit you need to have it super tight, And it hurts on the nose bridge, so bad, I got 8000 hours in VR on Valve Index and Vive, Never had this feeling and got an headache overall from it. You also only have lens clarity in the exact center, you cannot use your eyes to look at things, you need to move your head, not good design
I'm waiting to get the audio strap and potentially get my IPD checked by the optometrist (which if I need to- I'll have to send the headset back to have it changed) before I make the update video. I'll say I've grown to find it more comfortable over the past month. Not sure if it's because I've found a more comfortable position on my face or if I've just gotten used to the discomfort, but the comfort is fine now. Not extremely comfortable like I had hoped when I bought it, but not intolerable either.

@@Mar-5016 It's not as big as an upgrade from the index as I expected but it's definitely an upgrade. I have a 3080ti but my recording settings just weren't optimized for VR at the time. Just remember you have to render 2560x2560 per eye.
Try the Pimax Crystal OG or light. It's surprisingly comfortable with the correct accessories and has amazing clarity without the god rays. Only slight problem is the CR which you get used to after a little while.
There’s a glitch where if Minecraft thinks you are ascending a block (like walking up one) it will negate all fall damage
I went with the Pimax Crystal Light with local dimming and Light House Face Plate. Best visuals I have ever seen in Virtual Reality. The HMD looks Huge but, actually it is very Comfortable. More comfortable than my Quest Pro and My Quest 3.
I love man and never had any issue. I’ve learned that people having different off shaped heads is really the common denominator. That actually might sound rude lol but we are all different and some people just have very unique heads. My head fits fine and there’s no glare :/
ur Exactly just like me when i get it for first time... FOV and sweetspot is Shit. the Pain.. of waiting and this.? so stresfull and im also worried about the IPD. i almost refund this, but after discussing with support, im lucky my IPD is spot on.. just need to change the gasket..so are sending me thinner ones, and lets see how it goes.. indeed swim goggles is the worst comfort, but at least it has jelly cushion and i finally get used to it.. but still im ordering the audio strap.. i hope the thinner gasket can fix all my FOV and Small Sweetspot issue.. as for glare, dont worry.. u will forget about it just like u forget index have glare😂
the size and weight is not worth the drawbacks of everything lol quest 3 is better than it
I couldn't wear my initial faceplate for more than a half hour before it was unbearably painful, each and every time. Once I did another face scan again I'd when it felt 95% better and wearable. I got slightly IPD lucky but it still needs to be dialed in more precisely. I'm gonna get my exact IPD numbers from my optometrist and have mine redone though.

Write to customer support and get a new gasket. I use the beyond myself completely without gasket. Topstrapmod and nose adapter
Im going to get the 2nd gen just based on the glare. I will be using my actual perscription so it should fit/focus better.
