Installing a tail tidy on my GSX-S1000
A few small mods on my 2020 Suzuki GSXS1000. I remove the old license plate fender and install a cheap Ebay tail tidy on the bike. Also, I adjusted my handlebars out to accommodate my tall frame.

Quick overview of this 2020 GSXS1000. Then I do 3 things every owner of a brand new bike does. Remove all warning stickers. Remove all reflectors and install swingarm spools.

Replacing the old stock shop on my Virago XV920 cafe racer with a newer R6 shock. I used an adapter purchased from destijlmoto which made the install very easy. just press out the rear bushing, press in the new spacers an install. I found this shock used on eBay. R6 Adapter: www.destijlmoto.com/

Small update and correction from my last video on the swapping of the rear wheel. My Gen 1 Katana wheel didn't fit right. A Suzuki GS500 rear wheel fits best.

In this Episode I'll be converting the rear wheel on this chain drive virago to a 17" wheel from an old 1989 Suzuki Katana. The rear axle size is identical on both bikes. This wheel is 3.5" wide and has a swept 3 spoke design which will match the front wheels swept 3 spoke. although both wheels are the same width the tire on the rear is slightly wider than the front. UPDATE!!! I ended up findin...

First video of my cafe racer build. Turning this 1982 Yamaha Virago XV920 into a cafe racer. This video is mainly just to get caught up to where the bike currently is since I started. Swapped the stock forks out with the forks from a 1991 FZR1000 EXUP.

    Hi I understand using the gs 500 hub and wheel, what is the rim size 17”x ??? I’m also doing a wheel swap and want to put the widest tire on the rear I currently have a gsxr wheel at 5.5 wide was wondering if just swapping the wheel hub would work or I can also get a 4.5 rim.

    Any issue with Vibration once you removed the OEM ones ?

      Yeah my bike does seem to vibrate a lot. But it did that before also. I don't think it changed anything.

    Does your shock have side to side play within the adapter?

    • @shiftysgarage4365
      @shiftysgarage4365 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It is in there very snug. It took a little effort just to line up the holes cause of the tight tolerance.

    On My 920R Build. I have a 96-99 Suzuki Bandit rear rim same 3 spoke, but is 4.5" with a 160 tire and so far fits with the GS500 hub. Still looking for sprockets as the stock 630 chain is huge.... Do you have a source on sprockets yet would like to see 520 chain but 525-530 will be ok

      I think I'm going to go with the adapter to fit an 03-05 R6 rear shock onto the bike. www.destijlmoto.com/collections/yamaha-xv/products/03-05-yamaha-r6-shock-adapter

    hi , did the clamp fit without changing of the stem ? or did you make some modification? thanks

    • @shiftysgarage4365
      @shiftysgarage4365 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't have to do any modifications. The neck on the XV920 was 4mm shorter then the neck on the FZR. The top stem diameter and bottom stem diameter are the same on both bikes. (25mm and 30mm)
