How much horsepower this 17K supercharge Camaro SS!!
Today the buddies and I went to Volusia Dyno in Orange City Florida to test the true horsepower on our cars. Unfortunately due to my Golf R being AWD I couldn’t participate but it was still cool seeing everyone else’s Dyno numbers. My buddies yellow Camaro made crazy numbers for a 17K car. That’s the same price as a Nissan Versa.

Dam no the car was so clean am glad your ok tho
Most of these comments sound like y’all have never been to Tail of the Dragon. I was just out there last weekend in my Integra GSR. Super fun time. Kept it in 2nd gear mostly sometimes 3rd, and yeah I got it a little fast in between the turns, but SLOWED DOWN before each turn. I believe it’s posted either 35 or 45 mph, but everyone goes faster than that at one point or another. At least everyone who’s out there to enjoy driving does. You just have to know your car’s limits. Couple times I got a bit nervous I was about to exceed the limits of my brakes and tires, but thankfully my car held its grip.
I was also there for Classic Hondas on the Dragon. I did some spirited driving but I didn’t push my car too hard because I’m in a 1992 Accord, which does not have any sport tuned suspension like your GSR does, and I’m on daily driver 195mm tires. It’s very important to know and respect your car’s limits. You can still have a great time on the dragon driving quick but not too fast, especially if you’re not sure your car can handle it.
@@nchondakid stock springs and 195/50-15 tires here also. Only things not stock are Koni sport shocks and ITR OEM rear sway bar.
Yooo. I just about turned it off when he said dodge viper is his all time favorite car.. LMAO. Not a car guy… dodge vipers can’t even make a turn with out spinning out I’m surprise that dude has it out on the dragon. He has to be driving hella slow.. damn saw the accident. Glad your safe and Srry that happen AND luckily there was a hill to stop you there instead of going off a cliff.
@@teemov2 He was actually thrashing it. Just because you don’t like vipers don’t make me less of a car guy. I have driven many cars and the 5th gen dodge viper is an experience you can’t elaborate.
@@YoBoiSlick I have driven a viper my self and it moves can’t lie but scary when switching in and out of lanes on the highway. My dream car and never drove is a Porsche GT3
@@teemov2 takes real skill to own a viper unfortunately especially the older generations. They have no nannies. atleast gen 5 has traction control which don’t work too well. I went around a corner on the tail too fast and went into the ditch like you. Messed my bumper up and got a flat but at least I was still able to drive home. Get her fixed and get back out there that mistake might make you a better driver but it will also teach you about limits.
@@crowdkiller9818 same story here. Fixed her and went back out next day
I'm glad you two are safe, but if you want to avoid future accidents like this, just simply don't speed on a public road, especially in something like the Tail of the Dragon. It's not worth your life, others, nor the loss of your car for just a few minutes of pleasure.
Newsflash, everyone speeds on the dragon, at least a little bit. Just not around the curves, generally.
@@TheTalkedSpy And if you’re gonna speed, at least be smart about it.
Commented on the last video. Tires and wheel sizes are looking much better. I don't have any experience with the Indy 500 tire but it's definitely an upgrade to what you had. The tires still look like they may be 10mm or so too small for the tire width but it's so close that it shouldn't matter. See if you got the right wheels by doing the math to figure out your scrub radius. But the offset of the wheel doesn't look too extreme to cause any issues. I'd still suggest seeing if you cannot find a well documented performance/track alignment for your Speed 3, as that'll help make the car more neutral or allow you to add in some lift off oversteer at the limit. From what I can tell you look like you're accelerating too soon out of the corner causing understeer. Personally, I'd probably drive the Speed 3 like a momentum car. Get up to speed and keep as much speed in the corner as possible and wait just a split second later to power out of it. My assumption is that you're slowing down too much and mid to late corner you feel the need to power through. Continue upgrading yourself and your ride one step at a time. I cannot recommend some cheap orange cones and an empty parking lot enough.
@@TheRightApex appreciate the feedback against I have hit plenty of auto cross and track days just not in this car. I actually got heat from my friends for taking a car I hardly knew to the dragon that hard. So it’s time upgrade and learn the car off the dragon and track. I should have brought my golf r or set more seat time in the speed 3. I’m currently learning the new wheel and tires set up. Waiting on new suspension components and looking into proper seats (I was all over the place the first 2 days of driving before crash) only up from here. You had every good point 💯
@@YoBoiSlick Just be careful on the suspension setup, people tend to go way too stiff for street driving which can cause less grip then stock. I run a 15' NC Miata so I don't know enough about the Speed 3 and what alignment capabilities are there from the factory. I'd suggest only upgrading parts that allow for more alignment capability and start there. From previous test drives I've done in a Speed 3 they are decently stiff from the factory. You could go with anti-roll bars and loosen the front but tighten the rear to allow for more oversteer. Your goal should be to make it so when you let off the accelerator the car naturally wants to track in-ward and when you accelerate the car (plus it being FWD) will want to naturally track out-ward. You want to be able to steer your car with your accelerator. As far as your shoes definitely get that figured out. Hopefully it isn't anything serious, look into some wrestling shoes. They are a cheap alternative to actual driving shoes and due to their smaller thinner sole actually provide similar driving feel and might be more comfortable.
@@TheRightApex gotcha and I just think I have done serous damage from wearing Jordan, Adidas, etc. they make horrible shoes and it got worse. My work boots more comfortable than anything Nike’s making right now.
Definitely look into getting actual performance summer tires, rather than all-seasons, then get a spare cheap set of steelies or stock rims with some winter tires for the colder months. If you haven't already make sure that the new wheels can fit a correct sized tire. Your original all-seasons were stretched over the tire and were way too small width wise. Having the correct tire will increase your tire contact with the road surface and it'll help reduce curbing if it ever happens. When you get an alignment see if there are any known good alignments that help neutralize the car or add in some oversteer. The factory alignment will always understeer before anything else and FWD with front weight bias will only exaggerate that. You can definitely mitigate some of that with a more performance oriented alignment. When deciding to do any kind of performance driving.. wear tennis shoes not croc's.. There's definitely some big beginner mistakes going on here. Spend some money doing some driver upgrades. Take classes, or find a large parking lot and get some cheap orange cones and make an auto-cross course out of them. Push your car and learn what you can do to stop understeer and how to handle it.
@@TheRightApex appreciate that feedback but check out the last video I posted it will answer some questions/ concerns. Only thing I can’t change with street driving is the crocks situation. Shoes+ driving for me is a painful and I’m currently getting that check out because even my old race shoes (which I can’t fit anymore) have my foot pain. But the shoes never gave me any issues. Everything else probably have and a lot of changes are being made as we speak. Just stay tuned
Don't let it get you down, you really lucked out with the limited damage. I really really REALLY recommend finding a local Autocross club if you have any that run close to you. It's cheap racing, and will let you explore the limits of grip, braking capability, etc. If would even encourage you to try it on non-performance tires to get the feel for finding where the real edge of control is. Be careful just chucking on 200tw tires and coilovers and thinking it will fix this issue, the only thing it will change is the amount of speed you can carry and if you break the limits on those the wreck will be far worse. Chin up bro, this was a good learning experience.
@3:23 when I hear you throttled there, I knew you f'd up... I understand it's fun to drive fast, but on the public roads, just don't push to the limit like that, do that on the track. Anyway, stay safe ✌
dont blame the car for you going way to fast. i got a speed and i dont got that isue
The hate in the comments seems unwarranted. Even professional drivers crash at some point in life but its what you learn from it is whats most important. Keep your head up bro dont let this shit discourage you. Im personally a Honda guy but love the speed 3, they're so underappreciated.

No sir. When you're using all of your grip to go around the bend, you have nothing left to brake with. If you attempt to brake in that situation, you will lose even more steering angle instantly. I think what you're talking about is trail braking, which is something an instructor will teach a student after they can navigate a bend decently. Nothing besides slowing down sooner would've helped here. Once the pace was set, it was locked in once that decreasing radius came in the turn. Classic rookie mistake.
