An Overview of Flow Meter Technologies
มุมมอง 1.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Flow meters are used across industry for measuring the flow rate or quantity of a moving liquid or gas. Industrial processes often require precise flow measurement for process control. Flow meters allow operators to properly monitor or control process flow and to more easily detect system failures. A multitude of technologies exist for measuring flow, but how do you know which one best fits you...
An Expert Relief Valve Overview
มุมมอง 42K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Today we dive into Direct Spring-Operated Valves and Pilot Operated Valves hosted by a guest! Tre’ Richard of Leser educates us on the most important aspects of relief valves. He discusses differences, defines some important terms, and walks us through the entire process of each component that everyone should know in the process field. For a free Safety Relief Valve worksheet, leave us a commen...
What are Tube Fittings?
มุมมอง 6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we discuss Tube Fittings and their common applications. A tube fitting is a type of compression fitting. Tube fittings originated in the 1950s as a replacement for flare-type fittings. With a flared fitting, you need a special flaring tool to shape the tubing in order to create the seal when the fitting is tightened. Flared fittings are difficult to make and are certainly more ti...
How do Bi-Metal Thermometers work and when would you use one?
มุมมอง 14K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Bimetal temperature gauges are generally produced as a helical tube. The measuring system consists of two strips of metal with different expansion coefficients that are welded or bonded. When the temperature changes, the bimetal strip deforms into a helix or spiral shape to create a rotational movement. Given that one end of the bimetal helix is firmly clamped, the other end will rotate and mov...
What's the Difference between a Pressure Transducer and Transmitter?
มุมมอง 11K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we talk about the differences between Transducers and Transmitters as well as some of the common applications used for each of these Pressure readers. The conversion of pressure into an electrical signal is achieved by the physical deformation of strain gauges which are bonded into the diaphragm of the pressure transducer and wired into a Wheatstone bridge configuration. Pressure...
What are Thermowells and when should you use one?
มุมมอง 3K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we talk about how thermowells are used to guard temperature sensors such as thermocouples, thermistors, and bimetal thermometers against damage from excessive pressure, material velocity, and corrosion. They also increase the longevity of the sensor, allow sensor replacement without draining the system, and reduce the probability of contamination. Download ASME PTC 19.3 TW 2016: ...
RTD vs Thermocouple - What's the difference?
มุมมอง 9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Thermocouples and RTDs are the most common types of temperature sensors used in commercial and industrial applications. The following video provides an overview of these sensors with some basic knowledge to get you started in choosing the correct sensor for your application. Choosing a temperature sensor for your application can be an overwhelming task. The current range of sensors in the marke...
What is a Needle Valve and how does it work?

What is a Pressure Gauge and how does it work? Explained
มุมมอง 3724 ปีที่แล้ว
What is a pressure gauge and how does it work? Simply put, a pressure gauge measures the force of the pressure in an element. It allows you to monitor the parameters of performance. In this video, we will cover how pressure is determined in fluids, what a pressure gauge is and its purpose, and some other important faculties of the device. Thanks for this great video. I'm looking for valves working at 60Mpa, very small pipe lines( 1mm inner diameter), I want to control them automatically, maybe solenoid valve, but they seem to work at much lower pressure. Would you please come up with some recommendations? Thanks in advance!

  • @subhampokhrel6906

    But the pilot can see back pressure ,so there is chance that due to that it never lifts up,so the main valve also never open

    • @JV-re3lv
      @JV-re3lv ปีที่แล้ว

      I've worked on quite a few pilot valves and none of them are affected by downstream pressure. The pilot essentially works like a pressure switch an a solenoid. When the process pressure pressure reaches the set pressure it vents the top of the main to atmosphere which allows the main piston to open relieving the pressure. The pilot itself has no connection to downstream pressure so it can accurately open the main without any interference from changes on the vent side. You might see the diagram and think the downstream pressure could be connected to the top of the main piston but if you saw one in person the main piston is in a sealed tube with seals on the outside that prevent leakage from the downstream pressure to the pressure that keeps it sealed.

    Can we use the bimetallic thermometer in a switchgear to detect temperature and also is it possible to get a digital or analog output from this sensor

    • @sagacitybasictechseries6561
      @sagacitybasictechseries6561 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, bi-metals will work here, but please note they won’t last too long in high vibration environments. If you require an output it is probably best to use and RTD and transmitter. Bi-metals typically don’t have analog transmitters integrated with them.
