In this channel we will see many old typewriters, calculators, for home and office use.
But we will see also other office devices, mimeographs, radio, and old computers.
Very often we will see how they work, and their history, how the typewriter developed from the end of nineteenth century.
It's all based on the collection of my father, who collected these devices for half a century. So I have to thank him.

I revived the wood of an old press for the copying of letters doing also a little maintenance and restoration. It's an old vintage device, an ancestor of mimeographs, and could be dated at the beginning of 1900s. It used a special ink, and there was a procedure for preparing the copy. Amazing ! I guess this would also have been handy to draw tables. I wondered what it was used for, my fist guess was to align a previously typed paper to continue typing : the hole would align with dots, for example.

Interesting! The process is basically the same still used today for silk-screen printing. Due to the primitive nature of this equipment the quality is quite suffering but heck it does the job...
Yes, after 130 years is still possible to do some copy, of couse it helps that it's a very simple construction.

Very cool! I love looking at old colonial-era machines, technology, tools, etc... they weren't quite up to where we're at here in the 21st century, but those people were very ingenious and came up with a lot of interesting contraptions to make life easier/better.

Sometime studying is hard, but must it's necessary to do it.
…use transfer and normal ink selectively for specific letters and you can code messages that will only be readable after you make a copy and see the message transferred… 🤝 🧐🧐🧐😉

I worked on modern photocopiers ,did they have problems with stupid customers (putting the paper in the wrong way and breaking the handle by turning it the wrong way LOL

James Watt didn't invent the steam engine. He made various improvements which made it much more efficient but many people had built steam engines long before James Watt was born.

The waterproof separators used for multiple copies were possibly covered in polymers (plastic) of the oils used.
@@geo8rge Yes, you can feel that it is paper treated with something waterproof, but it is very fragile.
