My Birth Story from Birth Center to Hospital C-Section | 18 Things I'm Doing Differently for Baby #2
In this video, I'm sharing my personal, somewhat vulnerable, birth story. When I went into labor with my first baby, I had this beautiful plan for a birth center delivery. But, like so many birth stories, things didn’t go as planned. I ended up transferring from the birth center to the hospital, where I ultimately had a C-section.
Now, as I prepare for baby #2, I’m determined to approach this birth differently. My goal? A successful VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). In this video, I’m breaking down **18 things I'm doing differently** to increase my chances of achieving that goal.
In this video, I'm sharing the full story of my first pregnancy, labor, and delivery: the highs, the lows, and how I handled the unexpected shift from birth center to hospital C-section. I'll also share why I’m choosing to plan for a VBAC this time around and how I’m preparing both mentally and physically.
Have you had a VBAC or are you preparing for one?
Share your birth story or tips in the comments-I’d love to hear from you!
And if you find this helpful, hit subscribe so we can navigate this wild and wonderful journey together.

Hi the bungee cord, which size do you recommend to clip the car seat to the stroller in the storage bin?
I used a super short one - 24inches - which worked well for this specific use case. They are straps that clip - I've tried those and they also work but I find the bungee cord easier.
For a 18 month old which option would be better for 8 hour flight. Getting him is own seat. Was thinking of WayB and then fold and stow and get an inflatable toddler bed for the window seat. Not sure how the Cosco will work if there is no choice but keeping baby in it for 8 hours.
Unfortunately, the WayB Pico wouldn't work for an 18-month old since it's only for kids 2 and up. Once little one turns 2, stowing it and putting a toddler bed for an 8-hour trip sounds like a great plan. Until then, Cosco would be a better bet. I will say, though, my little one did well in the car seat - it allowed her to sleep comfortably and sort of kept her corraled. Of course, we took her out often and she'd sit on our laps or we'd walk down the aisle.
DOes teh wayb pico works for children under 1 y/o? the website says is forward facing only
Unfortunately, no. It's for two and up only b/c of the forward-facing you mentioned.

Great video, can i take the pads off and soak the aluminium base with all the belts, in a lukewarm soapy water and air dry it atall
Thanks! In my manual for the car seat, it says that the pads can be removed for cleaning just like you said (warm water, mild soap) but says to spot clean the aluminum. I imagine that the aluminum parts will be fine with some a nice wipe down with water every so often - I don't think soaking would be necessary. If you end up getting it, I'd double check in your own manual that it says the same as mine.
@@TaraInHerMomEra I see, but the aluminium has got a fabric piece attached to it, it's this fabric bit and the belt straps which are also attached to the aluminium frame, and I am thinking to soak it and air dry it? I don't think this fabric bit comes off? How would you clean these bits then? Thanks
@@rayhanabdullahz7093 It seems to me all the fabric pads are removable from the alumnimum but the belts aren''t (see video below). According to my manual: Fabric pads - spot clean or hand wash with warm water with mild, wool-safe detergent. Harness straps - spot clean with cold water and mild soap. Aluminum base - spot clean with warm water. Do not use detergents. That's all to say, I don't see soaking anything listed in the manual so I wouldn't do it. wayb.com/blogs/videos/installing-and-removing-pico-fabric-covers

Hey! Love your video! Thanks so much for sharing your perspective on this bag. One question for you… how big is the book that you put in for your daughter? Thinking to use this as a work bag… 🤔
So glad you liked it! The book was small (and you might be able to tell that I cut the top off a bit in order to get it to fit. I just measured it and it's a little over 9 inches tall. I'd say it's probably enough space for a tablet but not a laptop (even a small one).
Did you find a backpack that fits it but isn't $95?
Unfortunately, not well. It obviously fits in those giant backpacks that are for car seats but that sort of defeats the purpose of having the nice, small car seat in the first place. I ended up buying the J.L. Childress booster seat bag (link below) - it's pretty thin and doesn't have backpack straps but it works! I end up carrying it on my arm or just sticking it under the stroller so it works! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HACFAPG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Oh! I just saw that they're doing a sale at Albee on both the car seat and the backpack. If the backpack is a must-have for you, this might be the time! myaccount.albeebaby.com/mod_myRewards/referralWelcome.php?referralCode=RRXGPX
Do you feel like the outside bottle pouches are deep enough? I’m afraid that my toddler’s water or insulated milk will fall out easily.
Honestly, no. It's been fine for a small beverage like one of those Horizon shelf-stable milks but I had a re-up sippy cup falling out when I bent over. I find myself using the outside pockets more for my phone, wallet, or napkins. I actually bought the regular size one on Facebook Marketplace yesterday and those cup holders seem much more practical. My thought is that the mini is just too small to accommodate that zippable design function. They should have just been regular pockets which would have made them more practical.
@@TaraInHerMomEra thanks for the input! That tells me to lean more to the regular size- I’ve also been scouring poshmark and Facebook. Hope you do a review on it! This one was honestly refreshing since you talked about cons- I feel like most other reviews skim over negative aspects.
Girl! I got the same color and feel the same! I thought it would have more of an orange tone and was disappointed.
The website pictures are definitely misleading!

Great video :) I just want a car seat which can be attached without base in a cab (Prefer European seatbelt path) and can also be used in a stroller. Could you please suggest me a budget travel system please.
Thanks! Are you thinking specifically about infant car seats? I don't know of any non-infant car seats that can be used in a stroller but that would be AMAZING! For an infant car seat, I see three good options: (1) Most infant car seats are able to be installed without a base. So, if you're on a tight budget, the cheapest travel system I know of is the BabyTrend EZ ride: a.co/d/5f6BL9v (2) Obviously, there's the Doona which is convenient for travel but $$$. It converts between a car seat and a stroller but it's $550. If you do get it though, I'd HIGHLY recommend signing up for Albee and purchasing it through there because you get 20% back in points that you can use on other things - it essentially lowers the price by $110! myaccount.albeebaby.com/mod_myRewards/referralWelcome.php?referralCode=RRXGPX (3) I'm personally a fan of the Graco Snugfit products because they're so easy to install which is convenient if you're reinstalling often. Rather than buying the travel system, you ould get the car seat (www.albeebaby.com/graco-snugride-snugfit-35-infant-car-seat-gotham.html) and then get the cheaper caddy (a.co/d/1pQ2GTp) instead of a full stroller. Now, if your kiddo is no longer an infant and you want something that clicks into a stroller, I sadly don't know of any. If that's what you're looking for, I'd recommend rigging up something with a lightweight convertible car seat (like the Cosco Scenera Next) and a stroller that doesn't have a bellybar or snack track like I did at [01:35]. As you can see, I used a luggage strap to strap it to the bottom and then the LATCH tether over the top.
I also have seen the BabyTrend Tropper ($90) that could work for placing on top of a stroller. I haven't tried it myself but it looks easier than the Cosco since it (seems like) it has a flatter bottom. a.co/d/dM2nIGY

What if you are already traveling witb a backpack as a carry on, would you still get the backpack for the wayb
Are you thinking about it more as a convenience of carrying or in terms of luggage allowance? If luggage allowance, keep in mind that the car seat should not count against your carry-on items if you are using it in the seat. If thinking about the convenience of carrying, I'd step back and think about the whole 'strategy' for getting around the airport. I usually only do carry-ons so I have a roller bag as my carry-on with a backpack slide on top. Then I wear a diaper bag backpack and put the car seat under in the storage of the stroller. At the gate, I check the stroller. I currently have a $20 bag from Amazon (meant for small strollers) that suffices for use in the airport but I do wonder if the official backpack would be more useful for getting in and out of ubers.
Yes,
This video is just in time! It looks like Ayla & Co will be doing a 25% off Mother's Day deal. Watch the video to see if it's the right bag for you!
Great video. Thank you for the proper demonstration. Just one question, is a 2.5yr toddler comfortable to nap on this car seat while driving? Do their heard tilt forward or are they rested well on the sides? Thank you!
I'm glad it was helpful! That's a great question - mine *can* fall asleep in it without her head falling forward but she doesn't usually because it doesn't lean backwards (meaning it's less comfy for sleeping purposes). When she does fall asleep, though, she is turned to the side with her head resting on parts that swoop forward a bit. I think about it as equivalent to airline seats that sometimes have a little bit of the headrest you can pull forward. So, to answer your question, the seat is rested on the sides but not WELL rested on the sides. Does that help?
Be sure to remember TICKS - the important safety checks when wearing your wrap: Tight: The wrap should be tight enough to hug your baby close to you. In view at all times: You should always be able to see your baby's face by simply glancing down. Close enough to kiss: Your baby's head should be as close to your chin as is comfortable. Keep chin off the chest: Ensure your baby's chin is up and away from their body. Supported back: The wrap should support your baby's back in its natural position.
There's a lot of research out there on skin-to-skin and postpartum depression but here's the article I cited in the video: www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352013216300448#:~:text=Skin%2Dto%2Dskin%20contact%20during,well%20as%20decrease%20maternal%20stress.

Also if I buy a I bond does that mean that if I buy at 7% I’m technically not locked into that 7% ? Because of the recurring 6 month cycle.
Yes, you'd be locked in for 6 months. For example, if you bought it today at 7% and then they announced on May 1 it was changing to 5%, you'd still be at 7% for 6 months from your purchase date. Then, it would move to the 5% for 6 months and so on.
@@TaraInHerMomEra thank you
Two questions should I wait until May to see if the I bond is going to go up in the inflation rate ? Right now it is at 6.89%.
While I can't predict the future rate, I will say this: The best day time to start investing is 10 years ago. The second best is today. Remember that the interest is compounding which means the sooner you buy, the sooner you'll start earning that interest. I also doubt it'll be drastically different than 6.89% (and it might be lower!) You're better off putting that money to use now, especially since 6.89% is a good rate no mater how you slice it.
how r u?-amigo, this is outstanding done,farewell,)
Thank you! Same to you :)
Thanks for the video! I lessened a lot!!!
Oh good! Good luck in your decision.
Thank my darling. i love your explanation
Hi, I got a question. How can I make this Histogram for two parameters if I have six? I need to set a rule, I guess but I don't know how. For example, I have a sample of six region, so I could have six histograms making: hist logipcf, percent by (region). But I need specifically just a comparative of two regions. logipcf it's a variable that was set before the hist. Ps. the variable region includes the six of them. Hope you can help me!
I need this too :(
Thank you so much! You saved my life...!
Haha! I’m glad. Good luck!

Bad scenarios are my class!

Aj I'm glad!
Oh my gosh, this video is so frustrating! All the what went wrong scenarios are essentially my classroom, but this video doesn't explain how the teacher GOT the students in to the second scenario, just that it's the right way. Please do a follow up!
