Philippians 3 1ff The Believer's Pressing On
We discussed what Paul had to say in Philippians chapter 3:1 and following concerning the necessary, Biblical procedure of “guarding oneself.” We actually moved over to chapter 4, and discussed some of the things that he had to say about how the Christian is to go about pressing on. We saw that Paul actually gave us a bit of a list of things that we are to “meditate“ upon. We saw that in Phil. 4:8 he gave us a list of seven different things that we can focus our minds upon:
1. True Things - clearly seen, unconcealed - used to speak of things undeniably and categorically True (not just what is thought or perceived to be true)
2. Noble Things - from the Greek word “Sermos”, honorable, grave, honest. To be venerable, revered, to be venerated for character, honorable
3. Just Things - from the Greek word meaning equitable, innocent, or holy - was used to describe the character of the Lord Jesus and what character qualities the believer is to strive for in their living.
4. Pure Things - a generic word that speaks of being properly laid out, clean, i.e. (figuratively) innocent, modest, perfect: - chaste, pure.
5. Lovely - Things we ought to be friendly towards, i.e. acceptable things: - things spiritually lovely.
6. Things are of good report - well spoken of, i.e. reputable
7. Things having/exercising Virtue - speaks of that which responds or acts properly, can speak of manliness (valor), i.e. excellence (intrinsic or attributed): - came to be a rich praise,
These are the very profitable things that a believer can meditate upon, and having thought of them come to a conclusion concerning how they can be active and profitable in his life!

We talked somewhat about the importance involved in the Messiah being born of a virgin. We also also talked a bit about Mary’s visit to Elizabeth.

1 Peter 1 13 17 The Believer’s Response to Salvation
มุมมอง 42 หลายเดือนก่อน
We began, what will evidently be a message taking several weeks, We began by remembering briefly our study of the first 12 verses of 1 Peter 1. We then moved forward with verse 13 and following. We saw that Peter moved from describing and explaining the nature of salvation to commanding those who have received it concerning the obligations and responsibilities divine salvation places on all who...
The Pleasure, Persecution and Perplexity of Salvation (continued)

The Perplexity Involved in Salvation (1 Peter 1:10-12). We talked about The profound and in-depth inquiry involved in this perplexity. We noticed the purpose of their inquiry as well as the people making the inquiry and the “place” of the inquiry as well as the particularity in the inquiry. We also thought about the passion and persistence of the inquiry. Finally we considered the Praise Peter ...

Salvation brings joy that the world cannot bring. Mankind rejoices in a lot of things but nothing compares to salvation (Luke 10:20). “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” The blessings of salvation, many of which have already spoken of, are indeed extremely great and a great reason to rejoice. Wh...

We further looked over the establishing of the validity and substance of a believers profession of faith. We said that Peter further seeks to use these tri...

We went and further discussed the manner in which God uses troubles in the lives of believers. We spoke of the fact Peter goes on and sums up what benefit troubles have in believers lives due to God’s actions! We said that Paul explains (2 Cor. 13:5) that God uses trials and suffering to confirm our faith and lead us to move forward in establishing the validity and substance of a believers prof...

We developed a bit further the idea of our salvation and the great rejoicing we do as the holders of that salvation privilege! We said that it is much more precious than “gold that perishes” even though it be tested severely! We concluded that we look on hopefully toward the end of our faith - namely the salvation of our souls!!

Man Made Doctrine!!!!!!!! What does Messiah teach? Matthew 13:24-30 and verses 37-43 kjv. Look at Matthew 3:12 kjv and Luke 3:17, John 6:39-40, 44 and 54 kjv. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 kjv 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Thess 4:13-17 kjv 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. The last trump is the 7th and last Angel in Revelation 11:15-19 kjv 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. And that's it....the Last Day, the End of the World....Judgement! First is Vengeance (wrath of God), Harvest, Judgement and Wedding which is in Heaven or New Jerusalem and even called the Garden of Eden! Full circle...Ecc 1:9 kjv.

Bill is a thorough, gifted teacher. He and his mother, along with a few others, were the yealded vessels who God ulilized to teach me about Himself. 40 years later I still recall the sense and knowledge that God was loving me through them. The Bible was their go to reference. Thanks for everything, William
