Crafting with Clementine
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 21 ก.ค. 2024
Sewing, knitting, quilting, home decor & cats! My assistants Clementine and Buffy are always there to help and you'll probably see one of them in every video.
I mostly write tutorials for sewing clothes and quilts but I love basically all crafts. Knitting, needle felting, clay, painting, punch needle crafts, and candle/soap making will also appear on my channel from time to time!
Thank you for visiting my channel and I hope you find something you love here. It makes my day just to have you visit or watch one of my videos! I truly love making inspiring crafts and teaching people how to make things.
If you want to help me make more videos, you can support me on Ko-Fi! (link below)
Charm packs aren't just for quilts! Make this cute fabric trinket dish!
Do you collect a lot of charm packs? I have dozens! If you aren't familiar, a charm pack is a type of quilting fabric that's pre-cut to 5" squares. You usually get them in packs with 42 pieces of fabric.
I love buying charm packs because they're an affordable way to collect fabric (and I also hate cutting fabric when I'm making a quilt!) But you can make so much more than quilts with charm packs!
This is a super cute and easy project that uses just 4 charm squares. Once you get in your sewing groove, you can make these in about 10 minutes! They're perfect for last-minute gifts and work great for using little piece of fabric. If you don't have charm squares, you can of course make these with any 5" pieces of fabric.
Project Notes
You can easily adjust the final shape & dimensions of the dish by cutting the corners to a different size. In this video, I cut out a 1.25" square measuring from the edge of the fabric. To make your pouch a little wider around the base, you can cut a smaller square. For example, cutting a 1" square would make your pouch a little bigger and wider. It's completely up to you!
Supplies I used:
- Charm pack fabric: amzn.to/4fnIwb1 (these are just some options. There are literally hundreds to choose from!)
- Batting: amzn.to/40s1ER2 (I really like the Warm & Natural brand)
- Odif 505 adhesive spray: amzn.to/3A7EJje (for attaching batting to the fabric. You can also just buy fusible batting)
- Straight pins: amzn.to/4f4E4Oq
- Thread: amzn.to/4f4mElg (Connecting Threads is my favorite budget-friendly option)

Chapters:

00:45 - Sewing the top edges together
01:23 - Sewing the two pieces together
02:39 - Trimming the corners

Crumb quilting is a great way to use up little scraps of fabric that would otherwise be thrown in the trash. There are lots of ways to make a crumb quilt but this is how I make them! - Start by grabbing two pieces of fabric ...

Sick of messy-looking rib stitches? Thankfully they're easy to fix! All you need to do is use twisted stitches to correct the problem. Where did you get the fabric with the squirrel?
@@disneymother801 it’s from the Reading Nook fabric collection by Sarah Watts for Ruby Star Society!
I just made this bag, was nervous because I've never made one before. But your step by step instructions and template helped me so much that it came out perfect. Thank you!
@@irmadowd1612 I’m so happy to hear that!! 💖 thank you!
Great video thanks
@@Kitten49able thank you! 🙏
Cute project! I watched on my iPad. And slowed the video down to 75x so was able to follow her explanations much better. I’ll probably try this and make a couple.
Chain piecing makes life sew much easier!!
Yes it does! I’ll definitely be doing that next time I sew these!
Nice video. I piece quilts mostly but it’s nice to see a quick and cute project like this. ❤️
@@karenm7260 thank you so much! This is fun for leftover scrap fabric too 🙂
Adorable!

Very cute project and nice tutorial but you speak very fast, a little stressful to watch but thank you for the video.
I’m sorry about that. I didn’t realize until after someone else pointed it out to me and it’s something I’m working on for the future. I appreciate the feedback
No worries. You did a great video tutorial and thanks for sharing ❤
I watch on an iPad and you can touch the screen in the upper right hand corner, hit the icon that looks like a gear cog, select play back speed and you can actually slow it down to where you can hear her better.
@ thank you so much !
Thank you for watching! I got some feedback that I'm talking a little fast in this video, so I apologize for that. I updated the CC subtitles so they're not auto-generated and I hope that helps 💜
Why in the world are you talking so fast?
@ I’ve been made very aware of it and it’s something I’m working on for future videos. Thanks for watching
Cute project - nice fabrics - had to use *subtitles* as speech was a little fast/deep.
Thank you for the feedback! I updated the subtitles so they're not auto-generated and I hope that helps.
Beautiful (¿can you work on the volume, I'm old😅)

It's so fun isn't it!
You may be the first one to convince me to try this. I have resisted for years sewing tiny pieces together. Thanks for the tutorial. ❤️
@@karenm7260 yay! I hope you give it a try 💖 It’s so fun once you start!
Beautiful!
@@4Grace4Truth thank you so much!
I too sew the very small pieces of my scraps into blocks. However, to save time and to be efficient I chain piece. And save money on thread. Thank you for sharing.
@@francespiquemal8813 yes chain piecing would be a great way to do this! I usually do that with other blocks but hadn’t considered it for this type of quilting for some reason! Thanks for the tip 🙂
I'm glad you posted this video. I've made 2 loaf cats with the same persons pattern your using. My ears and feet wouldn't line up and I found on the 2nd cat to move the feet to align. I'm still having a tough time with the ears, but won't give up. Your cats looking great😊
@@candiarmstrong7279 I’m so glad you can relate and liked the video! I’m also still having trouble with the feet as well. The cat I’m working on now also has issues with the feet lining up, which of course I only noticed after finishing the cat 😅 I think the crochet kind of twists or rotates as you work because my marker was way off position! Still trying to figure that out but I’ll definitely post more of these. Don’t give up you can do it!!
Oh wow, I love this idea! Not only is the outcome super cute, but our cats have the same name! 😁I love the idea of a crochet journal, and watching a genuine beginner as a beginner helps set more realistic expectations than trying to follow pros all the time -- not that you're not already a fantastic crocheter! I just really appreciate the honesty ❤
@@Hanakochan10 thank you so much! And that’s so cute you have a Buffy too!! When I made these I wasn’t sure if people would like hearing from such a newbie so your comment means a lot! 💖
