Beautiful engine. As alredy said put a belt for the water pump even if the thermosiphon is right now working.Was it working with no load? When you will use the electricity, it will heat so the 18HP engine will need higher coolant flow, so need the belt. Some temp manometers would be useful. Greatful to see and hear. Thanks.
It has now got a belt driving the pump. It's not very likely that the generator will be working for quite some time if ever as it's not in very good condition due to being out in the weather for several years and I don't have a switch board as yet. Being 3 phase that may take some finding.
@@paulneave5805 Hi Paul, I understand. But the ICE is working well, so the generator is not a big deal. Like you said some studies, and you will find a solution even if a rewinding is necessary. Regards
Put a V-belt on that water pump sheave or you'll overheat it.
I have now got a belt to go on it but had it running for 2 hours and it thermosyphons quite well.

I am from Nepal (south asia ).This is an Icon of the British engineering . Thank you for preserve this Ruston Engine .I have also Ruston 36 hp and,campbell cardiff 16 hp horizental oil engine now and with me forever.which is as my family .old is gold . We must be save these antic Engine.
