    Do you know if their new lawyer is representing the brothers pro bono since they don’t have the money? Or how are they affording it? Especially since he’s a celebrity lawyer, I imagine he’s incredibly expensive. I didn’t know about the celebrity lawyer part, and honestly, I’m a little nervous for the brothers now. With Leslie or Jill and their lawyers from the ’90s, they seemed more genuine and invested in the brothers’ well-being. This new guy seems more like someone who thrives on infamous cases rather than genuinely caring about the people he’s representing.

      It's a great question. I don't know how they are being charged but I'd imagine that unless some of their extended family has deep pockets, Geragos is charging them on contingency; i.e. they only pay if he wins. Even so, it would take them a while to make up the fees. There is of course the possibility that he is working pro bono, and/or for the publicity, but I think that is less likely. He doesn't need it. He has also previously abandoned (less famous) clients who stopped being able to afford him and let them get convicted! I'm a little nervous as well, but I have a lot of faith in Hochman actually. I also think that the details of this case are so well known by all parties involved because of the celebrity status that it would be pretty hard for Geragos to not win. As I said, he's not a *bad* trial lawyer; he's just normal. Abrahmson was the exception, Geragos is the rule.

    The sense of self(self-concept)of a constantly raped child can easily be confused especially when participative molestation takes place.The 6 years-old child raped by his very own father is normally susceptible to sexuality issues, which he clearly explained his confusion about what was going on between him and his father...Anyway, evenif he is gay, their being raped by their father, during their childhood is disgusting more than enough..

      I don't think anyone needs to speculate on anyone's sexuality though I know that was a hot topic in the Menendez case when it came to Erik. A Dr. had noted saying that Erik said he had an intimate relationship with a male as a teenager. Erik also himself said he was confused because of what his father did to him. The prosecution attached themselves to these things to use against him in court and for public perception. As if a lot of teenagers don't experiment. If it happened, very typical behavior even if his reasons were atypical. I don't care either way and if someone says they are straight, they are straight. I don't know that marrying someone you can't be intimate with or have any sort of private conversation or relationship with while serving life really qualifies for "proof" of being straight because a lot of people have married the opposite gender as a cover up (NOT saying Erik did). To sum it up, I think Erik was rightfully confused because of his trauma, I think he was young in a lot of actions, the prosecution tried to use that against him, and people have speculated since. I don't think there is any "proof" so to speak because I don't think it's something you truly CAN or especially, NEED to prove. Just my opinion is all. We just need to take people's word for it if they feel they need to speak on it and then mind our business.

    That photographer was 30 years old when he met 17 year old Erik at high school party. The guy's a sleaze. After the first trial, where the whole world learned Erik was SA'd by his own father beginning at age 6, the photographer sold those pictures anyway.

  • @colinmuller8856
    @colinmuller8856 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    And let's keep reminding everyone of the rigged second trial. In my opinion , the judge, who should never have been judge at both trials, was biased against the boys, and was determined to get the conviction they wanted by FOUL means, as he couldn't get it by FAIR means. By excluding the SA evidence and removing manslaughter as a verdict option. Jurors later said that had they known of the excluded SA abuse evidence, they would have voted differently

  • @colinmuller8856
    @colinmuller8856 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Prosecution had no qualms about lying about his sexuality or s+x+al abuse. They knew the SA was true and that Eric wasn't gay. But don't let facts get in the way of your fake case. Experimented a bit and questioned it in his teens is nothing unusual. Most men do at some time in their life but most would never admit it in our homophobic society. R+p+ does not make you gay or mean your gay

    I always wonder how much people truly research the case thoroughly because they always get something wrong. Anyone who gives legitimacy to any of the nonsense Ryan Murphy put into his show is very misguided and not well informed on the case at all in my opinion.

    Lyle's entire character in the show is a complete caricature. Was he probably a bit of a spoiled rich kid? Sure. Was he this ego maniac, rage fuelled, cocaine addicted sociopath? Absolutely not and it's kind of wild that Ryan Murphy thought this characterisation of him would be anything less than character assassination. No witness for either the prosecution or defense ever described Lyle as being anything like how he was in the show. Regardless of the issues I have with the inaccuracies I just don't think the show executed what it was going for particularly well. The choice to centre such a large chunk of the show around Dominick Dunne's narration was certainly a weird choice considering there were other reporters covering the case who took a more even handed approach and Dunne's reporting contained so much unsubstantiated and salacious gossip. The show isn't entirely bad as the performances were generally fantastic and there were some outstanding scenes. Overall as a representation of this case it does fall a little short.

    • @GraveLineTours
      @GraveLineTours 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could not have said it any better. I agree especially about the Dunne takes, which were ludicrous (including at the time), and no one in LA ever took his writing to heart. He was essentially a glorified gossip columnist.

    6:22 it’s actually not a fair point bc they couldn’t even be indicted by a grand jury for killing for financial gain. This argument has been debunked and proven false even in the court of law. So what was the point of bringing it up and heavily focusing on that when there’s so much evidence disproving that? And Lyle was not portrayed accurately and was channeling Jordan Belfort from Wolf of wall street. Not Lyle Menendez. And he ultimately still made both of them out to be psychos. Everything they said in the series seemed like a lie and he heavily leaned on the prosecutions theories.

    No one really knows "what happened" to her. It could totally be the normal aging process...without fillers and facelifts JLo probably looks the same. But she definitely weathered some extremely unacceptable behavior from Kubrick on the set of the Shining. He would "justify" it by saying he was trying to bring out the Wendy Torrance as much as her could by terrorizing her. It is also thought that she had a difficult few years with some unscrupulous Hollywood friends afterwards. Many, many times the very good and noble souls like Shelley's is do not come out of life unscathed--let alone the hellacious place that is Tinseltown.
