Dark Aero and DORFic are the absolutely coolest. I want to see a DORFic resurgence so bad.

This was my style in the 90s for sure I was always in the library.

A perfect example of DORFic is Vector's House in Despicable Me 1 (2010). That's my dream home

This is my favourite aesthetic of all time, I had been searching for examples of it online for years until I found the CARI website and it felt like coming home. I want to live in that feeling of hopeful optimism of my childhood, when I would read animal encyclopaedias for fun and beg my parents for educational toys from the museum/science centre gift shop. I’m so happy there are people putting playlists together of music that evokes this aesthetic since that’s a really good way to get into the headspace again

Absolutely! They were so full of flavor. Nothing quite hits the same, because nothing quite feels like its invading my entertainment space like that.

@@Crucifixation as you mentioned, there is the "nostalgia" factor too

I never was a 2 thousand's kid, but most of these memories are like they don't have to happen just in the 2000, and literally any time it happens. Still have these memories, even if they're not from the 2 thousand's.

The call of a mourning dove always sends me straight back to those breezy, blue sky, summer days. I used to always think it was coming from an owl hiding away in a tree hole somewhere. 🥰 Love your content. Keep it up!

This is my favorite childhood aesthetic. It's so pure and comforting. Like you said, it takes you back to when learning about the world felt like an exciting adventure. There's always new things to learn, even as an adult, but it's just different when you're an impressionable starry-eyed kid.

Ill be honest I like the Utopian Scholastic mainly for the background art of the stars and planets in a bright room. Maybe because of the idea that I am in a pocket dimension and I am forced to learn something or otherwise die in the vacuum of space. Yet I feel ok with it. Weird huh?

As a nerdy guy w/ autism, this aesthetic feels like home to me. It feels… like I’m being gently mentored and made into the genius that kid me thought I’d become.

i remember going to the san francisco tech museum on a field trip in the mid 90s and this brings that memory to life in a big way. the scholastic pop up stores and stuff like that. awesome.

Yes! I had a very similar experience as a kid, but it was at the Liberty Science Center in New York. All my memories from that place are magical. The sights, the smells, everything! Those places always sold freeze-dried astronaut ice cream bars 🥰

Frasurbane(sorry, just heard of the term while living through it) reminds me of liminal spaces. But maybe that's because it reminds me of foggy memories. Great breakdown

Thanks! I did a video on Frasurbane too, but I want to do a longer breakdown of it. It is very liminal, I agree.
