Sustainable Living in the Metro
Building a Sustainable Home
Project Penthouse may seem like an ordinary upscale condominium unit until you take a closer look at all the details implemented in its design and style. Having specialized in sustainable buildings in Canada, the developers, Stephanie and Garrett felt a strong urge to share this here in the Philippines.
Mariposa Mews is the first LEED for Home certified building here in the Philippines - in a nutshell, means that it is a green and healthy home. Each aspect of the building process was scrutinized from the materials used and where it was sourced, to how these are all put together and its overall impact to the environment. They believe that the sum is definitely greater than its parts when it comes to sustainable living - small aspects like having each unit as a fully ventilated home and maximizing thermal insulation while allowing as much natural light into each space add up to a holistic experience of elevated luxury.
On the other hand, the interior design and styling of the unit was taken over by Idr. Eena Saniel-Duay. The design of the unit was quite fluid - evolving as the project went on landing on a soft minimalist look with the whimsical side of the clients popping up as accent pieces or through the different works of art around the space. The layout was also made in such a way that it maximizes the utility of a growing family.
Being within a sustainable building, this was also embraced in the design by up-cycling heirloom pieces and weaving this into the design of the home as well as picking materials and designs that will stand the test of time.

tama nga naman yung concern ng citizen..yung location na pinili ni Iya na magandang view pero matarik eh, para saken lang ha, siguro dapat itinayo jan yung dream house mo... pero kung playground para sa mga bata, siguro yung patag yung pipiliin ko at walang mga second floor walang mga glass or or hagdan or palapag at mga bintanang pwedeng akyatin ng mga bata or balcony.. di pwedeng pagsabayin yung dalawang style na magkasalungat.. ..yung kwarto ng bata may double deck na malapit sa hagdan at open, bukas ang bintana na kayang abutin ng bata, mababa ang railings..na pwedeng sabitan ng bata, .. ... pagnakayanan mo silang iwan jan na mag isa. na hindi ka kakabahan ....then napakasafety talaga ng bahay...

Very nice house. Gets ko na pano nya nasabing tiny house. Mas malawak pa ata yung playground kesa sa buong bahay. 😂
The ultimate goal of the owner was to have a place close to the city where she could take her children to that will have fresh air, a safe space, and ample space for the adults there who will be taking care of them!

Maliit lang yung space ng house. Literal na tulugan and lutuan lang and compare mo sa mga houses sa paligid mas maliit siya. Malaki lang backyard niya
agree. Maliit talaga ang house. nasa standard size sya ng container homes which is considered “tiny house”. Malaki lang ung lot nila, but the house itself is a “tiny house”
