God… just use desolder pump… Why pick holes with a stick and still post it as an instruction manual. And use Hall effect sticks, analogue is a bygone age.

😡 Just my opinion, but Sony PS5's are a beautiful, elegant, cleverly made piece of engineered crap! I understand it's the world of electronics, but this should be a thing of the past for a company as gifted as Sony. If I ever went to a Sony launch again, I'd be the old larrikin up the back & give them shit for this. Indeed this is the definitive solution, saying that, I will share what works for me, I opened the potentiometer cases, and proceed to clean it like I always do, doing it only lasted like at most 2 weeks, but the last time I use something different, normally I used isopropyl alcohol, but the last time I used wd-40, I used a q-tip and moist it in wd-40, cleaned the potentiometer track and all the other components, then I used q-tip with isopropyl alcohol and softly clean the excess of wd-40, not pressing to much to remove the wd-40, just gently to take the excess...for the past 2 months I have not had stick drift on my controller, when in the past at most this method only worked for 1-2 weeks, the only thing I noted is that the sticks are squeaky, not at the point is uncomfortable, but there is a squeak.

My buddy found that the plastic dust gunks up the grease. He just puts new grease in and there good.

There was an old controller where the manufacturers use MAGNETIC.. And not this one. Which is good. And i think that is unreplesable too cause it those not drift or broke that easily.. And it last for very long long time.. -(not Sure how long) 😊

The round potentiometer and the stock one with two notches are they compatible

WD40, fixed dont need to do all this.

Solder wick will make this even easier.
