DIY Soft Robotic Tentacle
มุมมอง 135K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Learn how to make your own soft robotic tentacle using Ecoflex 00-50 and ball point pens! This project is an easy and affordable way to demonstrate soft robots. The molds only take a few minutes to make and do not require any careful measurements. A single trial size unit of Ecoflex 00-50 contains enough rubber to make over 40 tentacles. This makes it an ideal project for schools or STEM camps ...

Make Soft Robots Without a 3D Printer
มุมมอง 29K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Entering soft robotics as a hobbyist can be difficult and expensive because 3D printers are almost always required to make the robot molds. This tutorial shows how anyone can make soft robot molds out of cardboard and hot glue! I am a mechanical engineering graduate, and I want to continue masters in soft robotics. Wanted to ask if these projects can help me become a research assistant in soft robots or a reseacher in such labs?

it looks like a cooked prawn!!! quite odd to look at, its great!!! this is basicly what the robot job is for a hydraulic or pneumatic rubber one, just needs the circuit added to it and u could have something really new and successful.

I'm planning on making a Davy Jones costume where 2 of the beard tentacles use this system. Does anyone here know how I can hide the mechanism? Was thinking about hiding it between my arm and my body, but it'd be hard to pull it out again without anyone noticing

You can use Push fitting coupling from Lowes or Home Depot and insert into the mold and then its a push and snap of tube inserted into the push fitting and can be removed in the future.

Current endoscopes do it with far less tissue trauma than giant inflating bladders. I am utterly shocked and appalled at what a ridiculously low bar 'soft robotics' has. It's brainlets casting stupid shit in latex, that's not robotics. Academia truly has fallen in the last twenty years, it's a joke now. :(

soft robotics is in its infancy, but it really does have potential! and plus, it's just really cool. and think of all the sex toys!
