hello.. I wonder could you tell me if you need permission off the landowners to magnet fish?
@kevgray. Thank you for your comment and support 👍 you only need permission if you on private land canals and rivers no but if in doubt check first
@@Sullysoutdoors Whilst waiting for your reply I did a little bit of research, the canals and rivers are managed by the canal and River Trust and they do not allow magnet fishing on the canals unless you have permission🤔 Apparently it's a bit of a grey area... The bylaw says you're not allowed to dredge any part of the canal or river and magnet fishing is a form of dredging, loosely but I would say it's still a form of dredging... It probably goes back to the days when they used to lose cargo off the barges and people would go into the water and steal them... I wouldn't worry too much anyway it's only a £25 fine. On my travels I've seen a lot of rusty bikes and boxes etc that have been left to somebody else to move... Which would probably be the already struggling Charity (crt) . I suppose it could also be possible to dislodge and partly retrieve something which then could be a hazard to boating🤔. To end with... As long as you do not leave any mess and do dislodge anything that could be dangerous to boats or wildlife I can't see a problem with it, it's just as always it's the people who live a mess behind you spoil it for the rest...
@kevgray. Ive not had any problems with anyone like you said as long as you don't leave stuff but where i am canal river trust are really friendly with us just have fun if asked to move on just move on 👍
