This was a great interview! Good questions and great answers. Might be a hot take, but imo metal is a natural evolution to most of those types of bands.

Finally someone delved deep into Aaron's creative process, his personas and voicings that he gives in each type of his performances, be that in narrations, screams or the more melodic and emotional pieces; and to actually know how and each one comes from, was very interesting to hear. My favourite part was when you brought up the lyrics, words and all the goodness that those things entail. I'm very far from his level in words/poems/lyrical mastery, but he's certainly a very good aspiration/inspiration to have in my own personal journey. Very excited about his projects (poetry readings, books - and very good suggestion about blood tests as well). Overall, I'm very excited about what he'll do in the future. Endtime Signals is both heavier/faster and more emotional in some places than Moment. It turned out really well. Slaughter of the Soul was a perfect album but it left no room for growth-At The Gates' subsequent releases were forgettable re-hashes of the same style. Damage Done, Character, and Fiction were quite expansive in terms of sonic and emotional range compared to even the best At The Gates material. Personally I couldn't stand We Are The Void or Construct and I've been a fan since 1996 but aside from those two albums every DT release has been pretty impressive as has their evolution overall. Very few metal bands grow and evolve as much as DT; most release basically the same template their entire careers, especially after the first 4 albums. When Brändström joined the band, he added a whole new layer to DT and it was quite unusual at the time to have a keyboard player in a metal band that wasn't doing black metal. He brought a vibe and an atmosphere that blended together with but also served as a counterpoint to the band's heavyness and aggressive tendencies, making their sound quite lush and full.

As a Mexican i hope that they delve deeper into their own Mexican musical heritage. I would love to hear how they interpret and cover some of the classic Mexican icons and songs from "latinamerica" Unfortunately it IS true that they are somewhat disconnected from their Mexican culture when it comes the musical aspect. However, they are not the ones to be blamed for how their parents raised them when it comes to musical preferences. Personally i applaud them for at least trying to sing and compose in spanish. What we as mexican society can and should work on is for our future generation of youth to break with the vicious cycle of malinchista tendencies in their own parenting. I am still waiting for the day when Mexicans proudly and publicly reference their own people as idols and role models instead of outside impositions and influences being their principal and constant reference As Mexicans we can sing in spanish english or whatever. That is not the issue. The issue is whether one is firmly grounded in ones own identity and culture and the normalization of assimilation and acculturation only contributes to the degradation and destruction of that Breaking stereotypes or gaining a place in the mainstream and colonial system doesnt have to come at the expense of Mexican peoples essence, culture and identity

F.A.F.O is not only my favorite song on Toxic Grace but it's my favorite song of 2024 PERIOD. Reverie and Fear Porn round out my top 3 songs off Toxic Grace.🤘 Incredible album. I prefer it slightly more to United States Of Anarchy which is a great album that I also love. Evildead are as consistent as it gets and always deliver the Thrash goods.
