ARTs and PROPs with GL
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 ต.ค. 2022
At Arts and Props with GL, we create ornaments, wreaths, and decor for holidays and weddings. Our ornament videos include no-sew ornaments, salt dough ornaments, decoupage ornaments, fabric ornaments, gallery glass ornaments, and mercury glass ornaments. We enjoy experimenting with new concepts and developing new techniques. Several of our techniques are unique to our channel including flocking techniques to decorate the inside and outside of ornaments, decoupaging techniques to cover ornaments with mesh, stuffing techniques to fill ornaments with unusual materials, and molding techniques to make flexible embellishments to enhance ornaments. Most of our videos are published on Fridays and occasionally, we release a video earlier in the week. If you have any questions or suggestions about our projects, please comment. We would love to hear from you. Happy crafting!
3 Ways to apply images to Ornaments without Glue
These 3 no-glue ornaments are great for ornament parties and easy to make. While the three ornaments were created in 25 minutes, I would allow 1-1 1/2 hours when making these in a group setting, The materials used are inexpensive and most materials can be bought on Amazon. These ornaments can be dressed up or toned down to complement most ornament collections

My husband spent many hours daily setting up and moving skeleton props through our graveyard. The scenes collectively tell a gothic fairytale that includes summoning a beloved character. Several props came from our how-to videos. I repainted and added real moss to the main character's face to make him look lifelike. Absolutely Gorgeous. I love wolves. All the different steps to create this. My goodness. You have the patience of a saint. 😊
JUST BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you.❣
You all are so creative!!! Looks good. Marshella and Ralph
Thank you kindly, Marshella and Ralph. If you try this, please let us know how it turns out. We are here for problem-solving too.
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
❤ Thanks for the advice!!
You are most welcome.😁
That is an amazing wreath. The technique is definitely time-consuming, but well worth the effort. The color pallet is lovely. I have used greenery like the one selected and loved how it looked on your wreath. I also liked how you attached it with glue, then secured everything with thread. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you very much. Yes, it is time consuming. The wreath reminds me of the log cabin technique my grandmother used in her quilts. In comparison to the work she put in, this wreath is much faster and easier to assemble. Thank you for seeing the glass half full as well. Lol. Luba and I are glad you liked it.
💗💗Very beautiful and classic. Nothing cheesy about this lovely wreath.
Thanks so much! 😊 This is what we were hoping to accomplish.
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers! I loved the Lamborghini short!
Cute. I have a yard FULL of pine cones
Thank you. We appreciate your humor. Hmmm, a treasure full of lawnmower mulch, bird and squirrel food, fire starters, and/or crafts; there are so many possibilities. Lol. Happy New Year.

@@cathiefarr9698 Ouch! Who would have thought that pinecones have so many uses:)
@@artsandprops 😂😂 Leave it to cousins. Thankfully they’re grown up now so they rake them up for me. I am going to save some of the good ones though. Thanks again for sharing your craft.
We would love to hear how they turn out.@@cathiefarr9698 🎨
Really cool
Thank you. Happy New Year.
Very Cool! 😎
Thank you. Happy Holidays!
I'm so glad to see this!! I just bought some of this and I'm TERRIFIED to do my tree. I also wanted to update my old ornaments and make them more rustic without spending more money. I'm so glad to see your honest review and see your results and tips and tricks!!❤
Thank you. We wish you all the best. If you have any questions, we are here to answer them. If we don't know the answer, we will be happy to figure it out. Happy Holidays:)
Nice!👍
Thank you.
Thanks and happy holidays
Thank you for your comment. Happy holidays :)
Gorgeous
Thank you. We are glad you liked it.
Name 1 "holiday" other than Christmas where you use Christmas tree ball ornaments, please? Just say Christmas, ok?
Thank you for the tip.
That’s my favourite video!!!!
Thank you!
Cool😎
Thanks for your help :)
👍Good video, thank you. The cardboard frame is a great idea. I just made two bows & they turned out really good. Pinching did not work for me and neither did the one that requires cutting slits in the ribbon. Very frustrated til I tried your method with a piece of cardboard & combining two. I’m not crafty, never did this before but my two bows look better than the expensive bows for which I paid a lot of $.
We are glad this video worked out well for you. You made our day!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you :)
That pumpkin is really beautiful. Love it. ❤
Thank you very much. Wishing you a happy fall!
I had hoped to see how the template is used to make the bow. Ornaments are very pretty.
Hi Wendy. Thank you for your lovely comment. As far as the bow template is concerned we have another video that shows how to make the bow loops. Also, to find where we purchased the materials, you can look in the description below the bow video. The only difference in the bow video is it shows gluing the jewel embellishment directly onto the bow. In our Floral ornament video, Luba took a flower off of a floral stem that we purchased from the Dollar Tree and glued it onto the bow before gluing on the jewel. I will give you our TH-cam channel information so that you can easily find how we made the bow.. Our channel is "Arts and Props with GL" and the video is called, "One trick changes the way you can make 4 bows forever," Once you are on our channel page, click on VIDEOS and scroll down about 25 videos to find it or you can type the title in the search bar, If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out again. Wishing you the best, Gail.
Very pretty!
Thank you! Cheers!
Spooky!
Why, thank you. LOL
I want that precious dog!!!
Thanks. Your comment made us chuckle. I am sure Jozi would want you too! She loves belly rubs.
I hate spiders, but this looks fantastic! I might have to try it. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment. Luba and I (Gail) are not big fans of spiders either. We really enjoyed the way this turned out. By the way, you can substitute the gloss for the dishwasher safe Mod Podge if you choose. This will make the plate more water resistant. If you try this, we would love to hear how it turned out! Wishing you a great weekend.
Muy lindas. Felicidades. Te saludo desde Panamá. Gracias por compartir tu trabajo. Bendiciones.
Gracias por su amabilidad. Bendiciones para ti también.
I cannot print both templates. Why?
Hi Theresa. Thank you for reaching out and letting me know. I will continue to problem-solve if these links do not work. Here are two options for starters. 1. If you have not done so, you may want to copy (highlight) the link below and paste it in the address browser at the top. (This method may require a Google account.) Heart Template- google docs.google.com/drawings/d/1bMKnjvFQj6gKsRqTyT653P8Jt5a9oaVv_yDvHlTY12s/edit?usp=sharing Fabric ornament Templates docs.google.com/document/d/1wz-OSmE_KVQbxvyB-FLAziL-4ChJ3UUwoxV6ypWO4Vg/edit?usp=sharing 2. If these links do not work, I can email you if you feel comfortable sharing your email. This is how I have shared the templates with 2 other women. You do not need a Google account to share it this way. 3. Another option is to open a free Google account and then you should have access to them. The process is fairly easy and I can help you with this process if you are interested. If I recall correctly, TH-cam may not allow direct access to outside links as a way to protect its users. I hope one of these options works for you. In-kind regards, Gail Trower
You're making crazy looking bowdabras-homemade versions😅.
Thank you for commenting :) I wanted to see what a bowdabra was before responding. I have to say, it's a cool little gadget. At first, I thought it was a bra in the shape of a bow.😂 Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Geez, just get a bowdabra! I agree with the previous post!

Thank you for the encouragement. I was not sure how this one would come across. In the future I hope to make more like this one. Wishing you all the best!!!
These are great!!
Thank you very much.
I came across your video and it’s only now that I’m hearing INCHES (plural, more than an inch) which a lot of TH-camr say INCH. Kudos!
Thank you very much, Javier. Happy New Year!
Love your little furry helper 💝♥️💝♥️💝
Thank you very much. Happy New Year!
First time watching your channel and you now have a new subscriber. Didn’t realize you can use ribbon of that kind to make these beautiful ornaments. Love love what you made. May you and yours have a Happy Holiday
Thank you for your comment. You are much appreciated. Happy Holidays and Best wishes in the years to come!
I made quite a few decoupaged ornaments for gifts this year. I used napkins, fabric, and images printed from the internet. But I had no idea I could use the tulle strips until I saw this video! How clever! You just got a new subscriber, ladies.
Hi, Susan. Thank you so much for your comment and support.. Luba and I were not sure if these ornaments would show up well enough in the video. If you use the more flexible mesh materials on a future project, we would love to hear or see how it turns out. The ornaments you have made with other various materials sound interesting and we would love to see them too. Happy Holidays.
You're very welcome. Like a dumb dumb, I didn't take photos before I gave them away! This was my first time using rice paper for decoupage. There was a learning curve, but I got better at it by the time I did the final one. LOL The images I printed our were done on a laser printer. So there was no smearing like what happens with an ink jet printer. I also learned from watching videos that I can put mod podge over glitter to keep it from rubbing off. Go figure!
Ornaments are pretty! Your dogs are darling!
Thank you very much, Ashley. We appreciate your comment. Happy Holidays!
You could do this on cheap clear vases and even glass jars. Very nice. Especially like the snowflakes. Thank you
Thank you, Eileen. We love the ideas you suggested and we look forward to exploring them in the future. Happy Holidays!
