Why do you check the inside gaps around the door. When a door closes on the outside there is frame that completely covers any gaps. As long as there are no gaps on the outside and the door is flush with the frame, how would smoke or fire spread? Makes no sense to me worrying about gaps on the inside.

McCarthy Stone say they are advised by Hampshire and IOW Fire Rescue Yet they are saying because our building does NOT reach 11 m high, then we do NOT come under this Regulation which brings into Question How Can McCarthy Stone FORCE us Homeowners to pay them for this Inspection, a Regulation to which we do not come under??? How many Apartments throughout UK, Scotland, Wales, are we talking about??? To which McCarthy Stone are Leaseholders???? Making a fortune???

Does this Fire Door Regulation only apply to buildings over 11 meters?? If so, we do not come under this Regulation? But McCarthy Stone Leaseholders are forcing Homeowners to pay them McCarthy Stone Property Operations for 6 monthly Checks re Fire Door Regulations. Can they do this? The building is 6 years old.

The standard of firemanship has fallen over the years and having an 8 week course does nothing to improve this. I know the job has changed but standards need to be maintained operationally.
