I'm known as one of them there Jak Speedrunners. Most of the content I upload is from my Twitch streams (twitch.tv/scarletra_) id suggest following as i stream quite frequently. Most videos will mostly be speedruns of the Jak games, with some other things I may find entertaining as well:)

probably the best run of waterworks there'll be for a bit, i commend anyone for attempting to get anything lower. tracks just about dead in my eyes for now

yes its done on emulator, yes theres seperate boards, no i dont make different comparisons to console, it feels the same since i run it on my pc like a ps5. loads are still gonna be faster on ps5 i assume.. ps2 pb is 4:08:00

another tt dug out from the equator. i wanted sub 1:50 at the time but alot of attempts were getting cucked to the 2nd shortcut and just blatant mistakes. I dont remember the grind all that well anymore but i remember it being a pain in the ass for where i was at skill wise then.

I can believe everything just about everything that I saw from this video apart from the doors opening so quickly. My brother and I used to play this game so much as kids that I would know that the mechanical doors take way longer to open than what this video was showing. Granted this person definitely broke the game by clipping through walls and teleporting themselves through time of the games story, it looks pretty clear that this is some already modded version.
This is played on OpenGOAL, a reverse engineering project aiming to create PC Ports of Jak 1, 2 and 3, which is why the loading doors are faster than PS2. Also, this particular skip to enter Construction Site and trigger the cutscene to warp you that far into the game only works on the August 2003 build of the game, slightly older than versions used for retail releases. There's a mod for OpenGOAL Jak 2 that recreates the behavior of that build, hence this video. Aside from that one skip into Construction Site, everything you see here is possible in the regular game. In retail versions the largest skip gets you to Mar's Tomb instead, putting you about 60% of the way through the game, with the Any% speedrun being about 1 hour.
following along as exactly as i understand, though slowly, and familiar with the mars tomb skip, but cannot get the construction site to spawn. do you know exactly what causes that? i follow to the same spot on the map, boosted dash jump, restart, and spawn in the same spot. glitch behind the door though and theres nothing there
