I've shared similar versions of this exercise in different formats, including in Ecotherapy, and will be eager to share some of these options with those I serve. I'm curious about your take on the version of 5 senses (well four) that switches 1 thing you taste with "1 thing you're grateful for."

    • @RecoverWithCBT
      @RecoverWithCBT ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Woops. I can only speak theoretically and not clinically about a specific person. Grandiose delusions work as a delusion to meet a meaning. However persecutory delusions act more as unfounded threat beliefs (Freeman). They have 5 identified contributory causal factors, worry, self-confidence, anomalous experiences and sleep disruptions. Each of these can maintain and drive the fear of others.

    What about a truly malignant narcissist that sets out to literally destroy those around him and then self soothes by declaring himself superior to all while continuing the vicious attacks? What if that creature co parents young children and the courts, CPS, outrageously expensive lawyers etc do nothing substantial because this society protects the mentally ill, the criminal etc?

    • @RecoverWithCBT

    • @RippleDrop.

      All narcissists have grandiose delusions but they are of a different kind. Typical is abusing people for years and then guilting them (kids often) as if the abuser is the victim and gets rageful when the victims and other don't admire the narcissist. I'd say that is delusional but goes under stunted emotional development, like Donald Trump as a public example. This video touches more psychotic-type delusions.
