What is this noise? 2008 Mazdaspeed 3
2008 Mazdaspeed 3 Drivers side noise.
Replaced struts, strut mounts, rear and transmission motor mount, control arms, tie rods, and brakes and rotors.
At times is sounds very rubbery squeak while others it’s a scratched metallic noise.
Wheel bearing doesn’t move when I test if it’s loose.
Noise is louder when turning left, quieter when during acceleration.

Sorry for the dashcam being out of focus, it was -10°F outside and the camera did not like it I guess. Camera has a wider view of above me than I did so I didn't see the bird until it was right in front of me.

Buddy, I bought the kit and had an idea on how to install this since the dealer wanted 600 to install. Thank you so much, I'm doing this with a LED amber bulb when it warms up!
Great tutorial! Question for you... Do you need those new surrounds or can you use the existing surrounds and pop out those honeycomb things in the holes? Thanks
Same sound too. My CV axle was busted
For me the wheel bearing was bad. Wheel bearing was tight until I loosened the axle nut. The cage for the ball bearings was basically not there and balls could fall out. Replaced that and the cv axle just in case.
Thanks for sharing this, quick question, if one uses lights stalk that has FOG light switch integrated in it, will it work in 2013 Impreza premium?
Thanks for your help man
I know this is an old video, but if OP sees this, is this vehicle the 2.0l trim or something higher? And does that even matter? Seems like the wiring harness is there regardless?
This was a 2012 Premium, which has the 2.0L. As far as I know the wiring is there regardless
Thanks for the great video. Now that they're in, seems a waste. The fog lights only come on with the headlights. They turn off if I turn on the brights or headlights. Really wanted them for extra lights that can be turned on wherever I want
Where can I get an aftermarket fog light connector to buy?
Is this a muffler delete or 5inch mufflers, I am unsure of whether to get the muffler deletes or the 5inch mufflers for my 2008 wrx sedan but I don’t want something that is excessively loud.
Muffler deletes, at the time they didn’t offer the muggers yet. It was louder but it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t have them too long (about 6-7 months) as I went to a 2012 Hatch.
Is yours 2.5?
Pyrosteven24 Fcpremix 1 yes
Great Sound< see my nameless exhaust video bro
Can I just plug in that connection by the fog light and just have them run all the time? Like every time I turn on the car or do I have to do the switch n such.
No, you would have to run the relay and switch. You could possibly find a switched power (turns on with the car) and wire them to that instead, but I think it would be easier to run it the way was intended. You could do this which would be very similar in the Impreza and XV: th-cam.com/video/N353U0XaH_E/w-d-xo.html
excuse me, if u see this can you send me the link to purchase that same exhaust if u can find it by any chance?

Thank you Zach
Thank you for the video. I have a 2012 Legacy base model. Is the process the same for my car. I can’t find a video for my car.
Yeah it should be.
Do you just install and connect the lights, plug in the relay and switch? Is there anything else needed to be programmed on the cars electric like in the can bus in order to run the foglights? (i am refering to the original fog lights)
No programming is needed. Just the lights, relay and switch.
I like your Video..I learned something..I will subscribe to your channel..Can you subscribe to mine..You can use the Video "Subaru Forester 2012 changing the Marker Light" th-cam.com/video/9koSxpN2DHE/w-d-xo.html and Thanks for sharing..
Does anyone know if the foglight switch PN#H4510FJ000 works for the 2016 Impreza's as well? Any help would be appreciated!
Do you have problems with your blower motor being to noisy?
Did you buy or make the mounts or can you use/modify oem mounts?
very helpful thank you more subaru videos please.very educative.
I took my 2014 WRX up Mount Washington two weeks ago. What a thrilling ride! I could not get out of second gear the whole way up and had to use first most of the way down. I did stall (!) on the unpaved section. I had watched your video a few times so I could see what I was up against. Very technical drive with a manual transmission. Maybe I'll do it again next summer but the drive is 3 hours each way. I spent about 7 hours on my ass in total, not fun...
What website did you use to order everything from?
I had the same problem. One of the wires from the motor to the ESC pop'd off. Apparently, the people that built my drone don't follow IPC 610 and IPC 620 standards of soldering LOL
do all subaru 2012 have the wiring for fog lamps or is there a simple way to know if one does or not?
Ronald Cruz yeah they do. Its just taped up in the area where it should be like I show in the video. So you can stick your head down there (move the splash shield) and see if you can see a connector taped up to another wire.
damn! I never would have thought since I got my clear Corner lights on the escort back in 2001 I was trying to modify to look like that
Can you buy a cheap aftermarket fog kit from eBay... using the existing (pre wire in the subie) not the cheap one in the kit... insert the relay and buy the switch? I see full kits for $60-80 bucks... just use what you need to make it work?
dasboot360 that's what I ended up doing, purchased the Subaru relay, and splitters from the turn signal to fogs. Fogs I got from winjet, I originally purchased the 60 winjet kit but wanted to have OEM functionality on my WRX. I purchased the switch and I cut the panel out instead of buying a new panel. Just take your time, use hear and a sharp razor
wow it's stupid how easy this is. it's kinda crazy that Subaru would install the wires for the fog lights but then just not make it a standard option. like, what? lol. $40 in parts and it's done. probably gonna do this in a couple weeks.
You saved me a ton of time finding the correct switch and relay. Thanks for listing part numbers!
Thank you sir! This video was very helpful as I was able to install foglights on my 2012 Subi Impreza my dammed self. I got the full foglight kit for $267.00 on ebay and was able to install myself thanks to this video. The Subi dealership will stick it to you for $393.00 for this install that takes about a hour!!
We drove the MWAR last month. First time my wife ever did the trip. By 16:00 my wife started freaking out, by 20:00 she was in a full blown panic, sobbing uncontrollably. Next time we will take the cog! Great video, thanks for the share!
awesome!!
Nice install! Thank you!do you know if ebaybhas parts for my 16 Impreza
2015-2016 Looks to use the same foglights so 84501FJ000 part number. The surrounds are part numbers: 57731FJ300 and 57731FJ310 for right and left. Everything else should be the same. If you look on amazon or ebay for foglights for the Acura/Honda OEM parts# 33900-T0A-A01 that fit the H11 bulbs (one kit is from iJDMTOY for 33.99) and buy a PSX24W to H11 harness from amazon or ebay, you will have better than stock Foglights. These use better bulbs and last longer, the PSX24W bulbs do not last long and are like 24 dollars a piece.
Hey Zack thanks for this...been thinking of adding fog lights to my impreza. It looks damn hot with the chrome bevel around them.
of course I am here because I have the same issue, :( the problematic ESC was always warmer than the others with 5-3 two blades props. I just flew some 4-5 Li-Po 's with 5-45 3 blades props, and that ESC got so hot I couldn't keep my finger on it. engine is cool. but now I cannot even take off any more . Big chances the ESC is dead? P.S. Thanks for the Video Zack, brings the community together!
Yeah might be too much load for the ESCs, but check the solder joints to make sure they were good and secure and not just a tiny bit of solder holding on the motor wires (as that would cause a bottle neck and make the esc work harder). But also 5045 3 Blades should be at minimum 20amp ESCs so hopefully thats what you are running.
You could probably get rid of the oscillations just by tuning your PID's in baseflight I'd think, I am still flying baseflight no prob
+Alex Yeah I have been slowly tuning it here and there and it was better before but went south a bit on the last tuning but I just wanted to get up in the air yesterday. I am going to save my configuration but still try cleanflight and tune from there
+Zach Muse I haven't tried it yet but G-tune is supposed to be the next big auto-tune. A new version of CF just released yesterday as well, good luck
Mine is doing the same thing, I just built it, I'm guessing a have a bad solder point somewhere
wow what a ride! Don't think I could do it LOL.... look terrifying in places, although magnificent views and scenery! Are there any requirements for vehicles ascending/descending? Seems like you would need a big engine and super good brakes to head up and down!
+Zach Muse ... Thanks Zach! Guess maybe I could do the ride if there were more barriers/fences on some of the sides. Looks like a mighty long waaaaaay down if you skid off the shoulder : o
+Zach Muse hey, man...great video! Haven't been to Mt. Washington...yet....after watching your video on here, am planning a vacation to the N.E. within about a year. You ever been to Mt. Mitchell in N.C.? Worked as a seasonal there several years ago for the state park, then returned to manage the restaurant up there one season. With the literal hundreds of times I've driven up Mt. Mitchell, still get a charge out of it! Have watched several of the Mt. Washington Auto Road videos, but have to say, yours is among the best. Have watched it 3 times now....CAN'T WAIT to drive it in person......
+Zach Muse when the fir trees finally give way, it really becomes a rockpile/tundra fast, doesn't it? Love watching the clouds tickle the very highest summits there...awesome!
Thanks for sharing : )
Exciting!
COMPLETE + HD VIDEO = PERFECT!!!!
so fast so good : )
Thanks for this! I just drive up and filmed the run but my MicroSD card failed - lost all footage! You had better weather anyway - nice job!
Keep flying : )
Thanks for sharing and have more fun : )
Did the guy wearing the frog floaty end up staying on his shoulders? I was in the heat after this one.
***** I was going to suggest that it's disappointing to find out, but given that carrying someone on one's shoulders would be a difficult and probably uncomfortable task I can't blame them.
Mine does the exact same thing!! I just uploaded this video and saw yours while searching for bad esc videos: th-cam.com/video/ASfEt9fSSGs/w-d-xo.html
***** Zack Muse: It was a solder joint which broke during the crash! Same issue as yours!
***** btw thanks for replying to my post on my video. I wouldn't have noticed this if you did not.
thanks! this helps for my 2015 WRX base model because I'll be adding fog-lights soon!
I had that happen when I used the wrong size mounting bolt and it damaged the windings on the motor. If the motor just randomly stops or if it gets hotter than the others, its probably bad. You can try wiring to another esc to see if it runs, if it does the same thing with a different esc then its the motor. It does look like a bad winding since the motor is binding in that particular orientation.
I dont but mine does the same thing and it bothers the shit out of me. You don't kk2 do you?
