So you're trying to claim that there aren't schools out there That say that a child can go to them instead of going to their parents when it involves trans surgeries and if their parents try to interfere or stop them in any way then it's considered child abuse? Okay so the truth is there are “school-based health centers”, housed on school property, which students go to during school hours. They do miss class time to do this. At the high school level, these health centers do provide gender affirming care which can include hormone therapy such as puberty blockers and medications, and surgery referrals. A referral isn’t the same thing as a surgery though, and I doubt they’re even giving out referrals, but they could, at least here in WA state. Don’t believe me? Look it up. That said, Trump went way too far with his statement about students having surgeries at school 😂.

This is preposterous. No one "become trans" just to play women's sports. Very few who transition, later de-transition. I wish these folks who are woefully mis-informed spent an hour just having a conversation with a trans person, to learn their story. Isn’t he talking about the students who change their sex at the school level but the school does not alert the parents to this change? They then go get an operation and the parents had no clue that they were trans and had no chance to help their kid? Then sometimes the person regrets the change because they didn’t get the help they needed.

I was sitting in our state house as they voted on the prohibition of the "trans panic" defense. One of the Republican lines they kept repeating was essentially saying that prohibiting it gives 'mentally Ill men' the right to commit sex crimes and "trick" other men. Really took everything in me not to just start screaming sitting on the sidelines with all my trans sisters.

Donny, it's not that easy to transition. Bud, if a kid is trans, they need shrinks and doctors, and their parents to all agree before they can transition. I transitioned in my early 30's. It took two years to get on HRT, and I was at the 5 year mark by the time I got surgery.

Yes, schools in the US are renowned for having on site surgical teams ready to perform GCS in between lunch and gym class 🙄. Pfft. Every trans person wanting surgery WISHES it was that simple. I had to wait 3 years (COVID added a year) for a spot on the surgeon's schedule, and even then only got in as I was an alternate. Wait times are horrid.
