Top Notch / Top Shelf enigmas of the performing arts without a doubt in my mind.
Rough stretch for Plant. Finally cleared up some and had coke voice in March. 3.21 was prob his best 75 show.
John bonham, ladies and gents. What a fucking monster
Better than tsrts remastered and this is raw audio
"It's starting to cook now"
It was the magical dragon trousers
Oh me goshhhh!
Right now, I'm super grateful that I can download this awesomeness! Thank universe and thank Led Zeppelin!!!!!
Yes

Sounds Amazing! Thank you ✌️❤️
Before JPJ added brand piano. Nice
I don't believe this is 75 sounds fkn beautiful
I was at this concert. Memories.
So was I. This was my first ever concert. Drove up from southern Illinois for it. Worst seats ever, best show ever. We were way up in the upper rows, to the right of the stage, slightly behind the backdrop. I couldn't see JPJ, but I could hear him. Mostly saw Page's back and Plant. I could sort of see Bonham through the backdrop.
It's a shame you couldn't be a little further forward of the stage, but the fact you got to experience Zep live is all that matters. The Arena sure had some great concerts. Saw Van Halen on their first tour opening up for Sabbath. Saw Heart and two days later saw Queen, George Harrison in '74 with Billy Preston, Elton John on the Yellow Brick Tour...so many others. Kiel was a great venue, too!! @@brolinofvandar
@@ChannelingJohnBonham I was mostly just a casual fan before that show. I had the fourth album and loved it. When a friend suggested going to this show, my response was an almost indifferent, "Why not?" I left that show a dedicated lifelong fan. Despite the horrible seats. It still sounded great! I can recall the feeling that I could feel Plant's vocals cut out across the arena, bouncing off the back wall and cutting through us. That was the only show I ever saw in St. Louis. My next time in that city, was via the AFEES, when I entered the Navy in 76. Went to boot camp and then school in Great Lakes, IL. That first summer in the Chicago area, 77, I got to see Led Zeppelin again. Somewhat better seats, same side of the stage, slightly forward of the middle of the stage, about halfway up. Unfortunately, that particular show was the one that aborted about 20-30 minutes in, with Page sitting down for the last song, before they "took a break". And never came back. I did finally get to see Page from in front, as part of the Firm on their first tour, in Jacksonville, FL. Growing up in southern Illinois, I heard about Kiel a lot, just never made it there myself. That was about a 3-4 hour drive back then. Which is pretty much why this show was my first concert. The nearest normal venue to home was still an hour drive away or better. So, concert going had to wait until friends had a car to use for the trip, etc. I also listened to KSHE on occasion, when I could get it in. I was a DJ myself, at a small local AM station, starting just before I saw this show. The friend that suggested it was a fellow DJ and high school classmate. I saw Heart in 83, in Philly, with Kansas. That was a great show, though the most memorable part was the Kansas opening. Starts with an empty stage, four seats, and an apparent string quartet. Then everything "explodes" and we're blinded by the flash and the stage is lost in smoke. As it clears, quartet gone, Kansas is on stage and rolling. Still don't know how they did a stage change that fast.
That's so cool about the Kansas opening. That's one band I never caught live. Did you ever see Foghat live? They were fantastic. I saw them on their Fool for the City and Stone Blue tours. Just fantastic. In '77, at the Arena (or Checkerdome as I think it was called then), Led Zep played and someone threw a firecracker on stage and it went off by Page's hand and they abruptly stopped the show and left the stage. Nothing happened for twenty minutes, everyone was wondering as the house lights didn't come on, then an announcer said Zep would come back on stage, but if there was another firecracker, they'd walk off and not come back. They finished the concert, but no encores. ☹☹At that Zep show in '77, why'd they stop and Page had to sit down? Was it the heroin? I've not heard about it. Was this one of the Chicago Stadium gigs? It's too bad you lived a bit from Kiel and all, St. Louis, because of KSHE, I'm sure, had tons of great bands and really good shows back then....and cheap!! Thanks for your service to this country, my friend. @@brolinofvandar
@@ChannelingJohnBonham Just saw Kansas for the second time last year. Down to just one original member (guitar), but still sounding great. I did see Foghat, with Black Oak Arkansas, around 75/6, at Murray State University, Murray, KY. Unfortunately, that was the worst concert I ever attended. Foghat were just sloppy, stumbling all over themselves. I seem to recall one mistake so bad, the entire band stumbled to a stop and stared. And BOA were simply beyond too loud. White noise. Too loud to make out what anything was. Even Jim Dandy talking between songs was too loud. Small basketball arena, they could have filled Soldier Field with their volume. Interesting what you have to say about the firecracker. Ties in with my experience at that cancelled show. If you read the books, it's officially documented that Page was "sick". Unofficially believed that meant he was strung out on heroin. However, at that show in 77, there was a constant, virtually non-stop, barrage of fireworks going off in midair. Over the heads of the people in the floor seats. Strings of firecrackers, M80s, etc. Even while Plant was literally begging the crowd to stop with the fireworks. Playing and attitude of the band fell as it persisted. By the last song they played, a roadie had come out and sort of tossed a chair out behind Page, who stepped back and sat down. By then, the entire band was mostly going through the motions. Plant was constantly pacing the stage, visibly annoyed. Then, they took a break. I remember thinking, "Break? They don't take breaks? What's going on?" Yes, this was one of, I think, four shows they did that year at the Chicago Stadium. I knew people that were at the shows before and after mine. By all reports, great shows. So, if it was Page sick, or strung out, it only affected that one night. Personally, I'll continue to believe the assholes in the crowd had a lot to do with it.
Never Ever gets old. This band was a Freak of Nature they were beyond GREAT. NOTHING EVER LIKE THEM BEFORE OR EVER AGAIN IN ROCK N ROLL HISTORY. GODS
Can anybody give me info on how to obtain a copy of this recording either on vinyl or cd? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced.
"fucking horrible song"
Inverted commas or quotation marks mean that you are quoting somebody. So who are you quoting here ?

@@OT-gl7ql Interesting... Thanks for answering.
I caught that...lol
Christ. This kills me: Bonzo's groove, JPJ's playing--including the moog bass pedals--and then JP's solo sailing over top with all JPJ's percussive stuff on the keys underneath... Great audio on this board tape. Thx for posting.
Agreed
Is this the version that was also on the song remains the same. Anyone
In a word, "no." 2 completely different performances....
no it is not
What else you got?
Even though it was during the banter between songs and not the song itself, my favorite moment was when Plant said; "Anyway, I'm gonna hop on one foot for a bit"!! (@00:32)
On par with tsrts
Houses Of The Holy is my personal top-fav Zep album -- perhaps it's coincidence that it was released the year that I was born, but I think not!!!
There were giants in the earth in those days.
Many people have many favorites, but I can't think of a NQ that tops this one. And there are many great ones... 🎹
This is my favorite NQ, as well. Was totally blown away by the jazzy sound on the solo, then you hear the mess that is the "77 tour and you're like, "How is this the same guy ?"
....we are blessed to have so many versions from different tours to pick from, this one is pretty damn jazzy. NQ is great live...Love to listen to them improvise leading up to the hard queues to be hit.... never the same, always a different. Check this one out 5 weeks later of this tour: th-cam.com/video/Dngx2l6aYRg/w-d-xo.html
John Paul Jones !!
jimmy and bonham in fire
1:50
For 50 years, guitarists have wondered how Page got such a compressed tone in the begnning his No Quarter solos. It's not from any kind pedal or smp. It has to be a custom way his bridge pickup was wired because her switches in asnd out of it.
My brother did a lot of working with his Les Pauls. He had one that sounded just like the legendary 57,58, models. So yes that spectacular “tone” is what made the Les Paul, the great sounding guitar it was/is! Not foot 🦶 pedals.
He could make his pickups be in either sequence or parallel, go in and out of phase, and coil split. Not sure what he’s using during this but I love it! Need Jimmy Page wiring in my LP
holy shit this one sounds evil as hell
Bonzo and page simply awesome greatest band ever
The AUDIO QUALITY IS PREMIUM. It's so clear that it sounds like a CD remaster. I was only 11 at the time and learning the solo in "Ramble On". Percy is singing his ass off! JPJ, and Bonzo are in perfect sync and Page comes in call, cool, and collect. At 8:58 he releases a blistering solo of a pent up, raw emotion. He begins strangling LONG gorgeous notes out of his LP at 12:35. This is the finest "No Quarter" guitar solo I've heard.
Seems like 75 was a heavily bootlegged year for Zeppelin shows.... this version is pretty damn good...
by the way, this is fantastic audio quality - wow - the dogs of doom would be proud
I love ya jimmy- and bonzo - and everyone!
I was there!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting!!
So was I ~! bleacher seats directly back from center stage!
Wow!!!
@@twodogs716 This was my first concert. From your seat, if you'd looked to the upper right of the stage, near the top, that was where I was. Looking mostly at Page's back, some of Plant, and everything else mostly through the stage backdrop. Still, to date, best show I've ever seen.
@@brolinofvandar 😎~cool~!
Thanks for this. I was there! Badass!
