Part 1 of series:
Finding the balance
Life on the road, for us, is about the sway between go and flow.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the careers, the lists, the alarms, the comparisons. Between what we think is expected of us, and the internal pressure to be “something” our inner child is saying “don’t you remember when we just played?”.
This being our third time in Tasmania and by far our longest stint, we really got to feel into our surroundings and bask in the joys of slow travel.
Everyday you are deciding how you want to live. You decide what is important to you, and for us it’s time. It’s experiences. It's the people we get to meet along the way. It’s waking up each day excited because anything could happen. The world feels truly open and endless. We just want to go and go and go.
This Island state is beginning to feel more and more like home to us. Filled with endless possibilities and things to do and see, we honestly just can wait to get back there already.
When we move away from the coastline, where the noise quietens, the reception is distant, that is when we finally feel… and we surrender go …for flow.
Because in the quiet, in the boredom lies space for growth and rediscovery. As traveler’s we must seek this internal winter, this slumber so that we can truly feel the life around us.
Tasmania/ Lutruwita, taught us the balance between go and flow.

Do you guys happen to know what year this Iveco Daily is? Judging by the front grille, it would have to be a 2019-present model year. I come from the United States, in Upstate New York, where the Iveco Daily has never been sold.
Heyy, yes it’s a 2021 model. They aren’t super common in Aus like the other brands but there is slowly becoming more and more on the road

Im in the UK and have done something similar, although the interior of my T6.1 is full of kit so my living accomodation is the awning on the side. I have both a small 2 by 2 meter tailgate awning which I can set up quickly and a full shower/toilet tent. In both cases I use a portapoti. You didnt mention a toilet, so what do you do?
...and there was me thinking there was no 'ceiling' to this build. Looks heavenly and even more so, that it's a self build!!

@kyeandalex we don't have either, too. Mainly due to size, being a VW T6.1, but haven't missed these in in the 12mts of many trips.

HiYa! I got myself a 93 T4 V-dub yesterday to fit out for travelling. Love ya slide out kitchen idea👍. I did a similar set-up in a Mitsubishi Express a few years back, I never had the seat part so the whole thing slid out and I could use it either inside the van or slide it out and stand outside and use it. I'm planning on building the T4 over the next 12mths and head off around this time in 2024. Happy travellin guys...🍺🍺

Such a beautiful Video, I just got here from Germany and gonna buy my t5 lwb tomorrow and got the plan to hit the great ocean road in the next few days aswell. Can you recommend some free camping spots along the coast and what kind of apps you use for finding those beautiful hidden spots? You guys are so inspiring with what you do! Keep doing what you guys are up to🙏🏼
Thanks Christian! That’s unreal mate you’re going it love it here. There’s not too many free camps along the VIC coast but your best bet is to get the WikiCamps app and you’ll find some little gems. Hipcamp is another good one for when you’re stuck. Appreciate the nice message mate

A local showed us this spot, doesn’t really have a name as such and was pretty hard to find. I’m sure if you do some googling it will come up, sorry this doesn’t really help!
