This Porsche 911 Kinetic Cutaway Engine is made from a rare original 2.0-liter 1968 Porsche 911-T engine core. (SN: 2081238). The unit was disassembled, machined, sandblasted, and mirror painted and/or polished, then reassembled. This work was done by an established licensed Silicon Valley, CA engineering firm, machine builder and automation specialist. It is powered by a commercially available Dayton DC gearmotor and variable speed controller. Speed control is from 5-60 rpm. Power is fed through a Morse torque limiting clutch and timing belt drive. There are circuit breakers to protect both the driver and motor. Stainless steel timing chains were added as well as UHMW dry running piston sleeves. The unit is mounted on a walnut base with a hand rubbed oil finish. Unit measures 30" x 24" x 17" tall. This mesmerizing piece would be a perfect addition to any automotive shop or showroom.
