Outpost Campers, manufacturer of the Outpost 6.5, builds the world's most capable four season composite truck camper. Adventure has no off-season.
Outpost 6.5 - Updated Truck Camper Tour
Since launching Outpost Campers this past summer in July of 2024 we have built a ton of Outpost 6.5’s and have had customers take their rigs on a bunch of different adventures. We continue to be blown away by all of the interest and positive feedback. Thank you all for the support!
In an effort to achieve our mission of building the world’s most capable truck camper at a great value - we have continued to refine our production process as well as details about the camper itself. The foundational DNA of the camper has not changed at all, instead we have made a couple of small detail changes on the interior to make the camper that much more functional for customers - now and years down the road. Notably the location of the EcoFlow Power Distribution Panel and the Induction Cooktop have changed.
In this video, Taylor will walk you through an updated tour of the camper to talk about what has changed on the Outpost 6.5.

VERY NICE! definitely considering outpost over competitors. i personally don’t love how the refrigerator opens to/touchs the couch. would it be possible to have the back cushion extend only to the power hub instead of towards the water tank?
what is the dry weight of otpost 6.5 truck camper?
The dry weight is 1558 lbs. You can learn more about the Outpost 6.5 over on our website! outpost-campers.com/
What is the standing height inside? I have a tall husband!
The standing height inside the camper is 77" even with the 5" subfloor storage! Learn more about the Outpost 6.5 over on our website! outpost-campers.com/
I'm a cash buyer looking for a truck camper and I find these campers tempting, the problem is there's little information about them. You didn't mention the distribution panel and its capabilities (yes I see it), nor the quality of the components used. How many AC outlets? How many DC outlets? Where are they? Do you use a quality Marine Grade Tinned Twin-Core Wire? Marine grade outlets and fuses or big box? The point is I can't find any information on the quality of products used for your builds, from adhesives to quality of LED (assumption) lighting used. Is it possible to search your website and piece together a true electrical system overview? From what I can see you have a nice product, but information is lacking, and the thought of pulling 40K out of the bank to purchase so many unknowns doesn't leave me warm and fuzzy.
Thanks for checking out Outpost Campers! We are currently booked out with reservations through Early Fall of 2025. We are taking 100% refundable deposits of $1000 to save your spot in the reservation list. Regarding your questions, we are always just a call away to answer all of the details you are hoping to learn about the Outpost 6.5. We want to make sure you feel warm and fuzzy before placing a deposit :) Our normal shop hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30a-5p MST. (970) 444-1740. outpost-campers.com/ p.s. 8.0 with indoor shower?
Lets get a north/south bed in that thing. This is a must.
So much better than a Scout camper.
When’s the 8.0 dropping hehe

I can’t wait for the 8’ version. I already have the truck. I envision essentially the same layout, with additional storage at the back end. No need to reinvent the wheel and make it more complicated with something like a wet bath.
I'm glad the power distribution panel was moved back down freeing up that overhead space. I noticed a vent next to the ECO FLOW panel. Is that a vent for the fridge?
Yep! Spot on, it's an additional vent in the cabinet for the fridge!
Waiting for that Outpost 8.0 with RTT. :)

Could you add a roof rack and carry something like kayaks on the roof?
We don't offer a rood rack option at the moment but are hoping to add partners who can do additional customizations like this one soon!
Have you ever sold one to ayone near Bend Oregon? I would really like to see one before a purchase.
Send us an email at info@outpost-campers.com and be sure to keep an eye on our event schedule. We will be getting out to more events across more states this next year! outpost-campers.com/events/
I need to get financing and that will be mine
We do offer financing through a partner which has already financed several Outpost 6.5 orders! outpost-campers.com/financing/
Good call with the stove being portable freeing up the counter space.
We couldn't agree more! More countertop space as well as the ability to cook outside!
Microwave option available?
We don't offer a microwave option at this time but the EcoFlow power system is certainly robust enough to power a microwave!
Too fancy for drifting
Would it be possible to mount some sort of racks on the roof to carry kayaks?
And a roof top tent like the scout , please
8.0? Indoor shower please
And can you please put a rooftop tent on it?Like the scout campers that would be awesome
When is the 8.0 coming out and will it have a indoor shower please? And thank you..
Once you put your deposit down, how long roughly does it take to build?
Right now we are taking reservations for early Fall 2025 deliveries. The build process takes about 5 weeks from start to finish. Check out our purchase process video to learn more! th-cam.com/video/oRAxjNg5gqY/w-d-xo.html
What will be the price on the output post?8.0 and will I have an inside shower...????? When is it available?

When you said you didn't want the heater kicking on waking you up I though back to the Suburban heaters normally found in truck campers. I know those are very loud when it kicks on. Sounds like a jet taking off. So just how loud is the Espar when it kicks off? I also noticed the camper with the cassette toilet door. Upcoming feature? Thanks.
Cassette toilet is a no go, says wife.
Is there a heat duck near the water tank/lines? If not, would the lone vent prevent freezing in a Canadian winter (-30 C)? Thanks
The 20 gallon fresh water tank and all of the plumbing is completely internal to the camper. With how well insulated the camper itself is, keeping up the internal temp of the camper using the diesel heater will effectively prevent any lines from freezing. If you have any more questions reach out to us at info@outpost-campers.com
Greetings from NH. could you consider an outdoor compartment for the gas can? maybe as an option?
Hello! The diesel fuel tank does live outside the camper. The camper itself is completely propane free so no tank necessary. Hope this clears things up! Check out our website if you want to learn more about the Outpost 6.5 outpost-campers.com/
@@Outpost_Campers Thank you for reply. 2.5 gallons of diesel will give me 50 hours of run time. (that's great!) if I'm of grid i may not want to go to the gas station and get more diesel, that means i have to bring more with me. Don't want to store it in the truck or in the camper. is it possible to have an other empty Zarges aluminum case mounted on other side of door or on top of the heater for extra outside storage?
@@PersonalFoul645 This is not an option that we offer at this time but what you're describing is totally possible! We are working towards adding partners who would be able to make mods/customizations such as this one in the near future! To clarify the diesel tank capacity in the heater box is 2.8 gallons and the run time estimation is for constant run time at full output, in most cases the heater won't be running constantly so you would get much more than 50 hours of being warm off-grid.
Beautiful camper. I will never understand why anybody puts those windows in anything. If there's any bugs outside at night, and you want to open or close your windows, you have to open the screen and let the bugs come in. Was definitely designed by somebody who never went camping wherever there were bugs.
I had these same type windows on a previous camper. Trick was to turn out all the lights. Drop the screen. Close the window. It would only take few a seconds too. I actually prefer these windows over the sliders. These windows can actually be opened when its raining.
Outpost 8.0 when??
Great looking camper. Well thought out. Is white the only exterior color option?
Thanks! We put a lot of time and thought into designing the Outpost 6.5! White is the only exterior option at the moment. Sign up for our newsletters to stay up to date with any product updates, we will continue to make improvements to the Outpost 6.5! outpost-campers.com/
@@Outpost_Campers Will it work on a Ram 1500 5 foot 7 inch bed? If so, do you have any pictures of one on this size bed?
@@dansouthcomb5439 Check out our Truck Fitment & Install Guide to learn more about how to determine if it will work on your truck or not. We have yet to have a customer with the truck you mentioned but that doesn't mean it won't work! th-cam.com/video/fMKce3HcA2g/w-d-xo.html
This is damn nice
I would love a bigger fridge and freezer and a wet bath. I would upgrade the Eco-flow and solar so I could add a decent air-conditioner.
I have a question about the fridge. How is the fridge vented?
Well done ❤ I love it. IS this véhicule Can cross thé Sahara? It must be expensif ?. Very great véhicule ✨💯😎
If someone shuts the tailgate would you be locked in?
Excellent suggestions! We went through this exact exercise last year in advance of picking up our Total Composites truck camper. We ended up adding a rubber mat under the camper, Timbren bump stops to the suspension in order to improve the ride quality, and Torklift Fast Gun tie downs to securely attach the camper to the truck frame. We are very happy with our set up and it has been tested over 20,000kms, 4 trips through the Rocky Mountains, and numerous off road drives.
Pretty damn sweet. I could see me in one of these.
We'd love to get you in an Outpost 6.5! We are taking 100% refundable deposits of $1000 to lock your place in the production line. Head over to our website to learn more! outpost-campers.com/
Wow this is the WAY that all campers should be built....Not crappy, compressed wood, ill-fitting, poorly assembled junk that is being put out these days with non-existent "inspection" and driving off the lot means a list of 10 immediate grievances that must be resolved by leaving your camper over a month at the dealership while they resolve for parts. The so called new "boutique" camper builders, Scout, Kimbo and the likes of Outpost which uses this type of shell, are where it is at, and growing, except for Arctic Fox, Alaskan and Northern Lite, which have always been of higher quality (and of course price). Question is, will there be an 8 footer version? With a shower/toilet on one side and a closet/storage on the other to fill in the size and extend stays? $39,995? Cause there is nothing, after a long day hike or fishing in no man's land, like coming back to your camper in the middle of the cold wilderness to take a shower, cook a meal and lay down early for the evening while staying warm.
Thank you! We agree that the composite construction is superior for it's durability and performance over more traditional style construction methods. We are on a mission to build the world's most capable truck camper at a great value and the Outpost 6.5 is the result of this. We are hoping to launch an 8' version in the future with a full bath and more storage high on the design considerations. Sign up for our newsletters over on our website to get notified about future product updates!
how custom can you guys do? i like that initial design but want more battery, a mini split for heating/cooling with a diesel heater/water heater as backup, separett tiny toilet. i take it you guys can do an 8 foot as well?
Check out our optional add-ons for the different things you can add to your Outpost 6.5! We just added a guide that goes into detail about all the different options including two new ones we just added. We do have options for more battery and solar power as well as a diesel heater. The toilet comes standard! We are hoping to add an 8' version to share in the next 12-14 months. Sign up for our newsletters over on our website to be the first to hear about future product updates!
What kind of entry points would mice potentially have in this camper?
Short of leaving the doors, windows and drain plug open, none. The composite construction is super durable and built to last.
WoW !! Love it. I’ve look at what feels like every truck camper online. This is my favorite. Looks great. Most interiors looks dated. This one has everything I want and need. Think this would be the one for me. I am wondering how difficult it would be to pick up and bring to Canada. I’m sure just paper work and more money. Or do you have a Canadian dealer ? Great work Beautiful truck cabin !
Thank you! The interior layout and finishes were a huge consideration for the Outpost 6.5. We want you to be comfortable and cozy inside with a super functional layout! It's no problem to get to Canada, we actually sent a couple to a dealer in Quebec earlier this year. Reach out to us at info@outpost-campers.com or give us a call so we can chat more about getting you in an Outpost 6.5! outpost-campers.com/
What brand of induction cooktop do you use?
very nice, thanks for sharing.
I am intrigued by these campers. Very thoughtful design. Question...around the 4 minute mark in the video, when you are explaining the functionality of the panel, there is a large EcoFlow (something) mounted in the cabinet over the panel. What is this?
Todd, thank you for the kind remarks. Regarding your question, this is the EcoFlow Distribution Panel. This has been moved to underneath the bench in order to maximize the cabinet space. Take a look at the updated tour video we dropped last week where Taylor calls out this location. th-cam.com/video/o1C0MmhAI6Y/w-d-xo.html
This would be perfect if that closet area was converted into an actual bathroom with a door. I don't even need a full wetbath. Just a dedicated "toilet room"
You could achieve this with our new shower enclosure. Check out our Optional Add-Ons Guide to see if this would work for your needs! outpost-campers.com/optional-add-ons-guide/
Looks great as long as you don’t plan to full time in it
Our first customers are actually a couple living full time in their Outpost 6.5! Check out their adventures on TH-cam @FarOutStoke www.youtube.com/@FarOutStoke
Absolutely love the design and camper great job. One concern i have is if for some reason there was an electrical fire from the power hub while someone was lying in the bed it may be very hard to get out. There is no dedicated egress point from the bed area.
Check out the new front window option we just added over on our website! This should address your concern. outpost-campers.com/optional-add-ons-guide/
I am wondering how this camper can be loaded and unloaded. Also how will get through -40°, -50° Farenheit winters. Can be conected to a gas generator? I am just doing my research, wanna start full time truck camp life. Thank you guys.
The Outpost 6.5 comes standard with 4 mechanical jacks to unload and load it to your truck! Check out our Truck Fitment & Install Guide on our website for a demonstration of this process. The same shell technology has actually been used at the North Pole! It is one of the best on the market when it comes to extreme weather performance. I must ask where are you getting -40° temps?? It can be hooked up to a gas generator via the shore power plug on the rear drivers side of the camper. The Outpost 6.5 comes standard with 3 modes of charging, solar (with 250w solar panel standard), shore, and dc to dc.
@Outpost_Campers thank you for your answear. I am getting even -50°C in North Canada.
