Its the church the Rockefellers belonged to
I played this organ last week! I wish every organist will have the chance to do it as well. All the best.

It’s the 2005 parade not 2006
Actually, this is 2005.
We know it’s not 2006!!
This is the 2005 Macy's Parade not 2006
It was corrected.

I’m looking to get some drone footage of camelback. Where did you take off? Any issues while you were flying with rangers?
This is 2005, Not 2006.
Proof
Weirdo, it’s 2006

brilliant sound love the organ such power brings tears to my eyes
The Riverside Church is incredible!
Funny way to play this pieceXD. Well, makes sense. Since we are no longer in the age where things has to be so strict and in order there should be some more bravour and embellishment in the phrasings. Hmm. I've made up my mind. If i would have to exit properly it would have to be this wayXD. A proper sortie with styleXD!!!
Good for you!
Most likely that's Timothy Smith practicing. This video was posted just before JAV made a recording there for an album that contained this Sortie. Unfortunately, JAV's recording is dead compared to this video. Your video captures the reverb and gives a sense of space.
This Is In 2005
Ganz tolles Video, Danke
This ORGAN is well know to ORGAN enthusiast like me and others. Virgil Fox would be pleased to hear his OLD instrument is still in use. AWESOME!!!!
Earlier this evening I was listening to Virgil playing "Sheep may safely graze" on this very instrument,The great Aeolian-Skinner organ. I have my late father's catalog of 'Organ Memories' on Vinyl,it was produced by Readers Digst and recorded in the old Dynagroove Sound. Was published in the late 50s and still sounds crystal clear. I need to have them transferred to Cd format one day.
Great job, the sky looks awesome. So much definition. I just subscribed and liked. Very nicely done.

Thank you so much. :-)
how strict is naples regarding drones? thanks
Hi derdirk71, I really love the views you have captured of Naples. Do you allow others to use your footage in ads? Please respond and I can give you my personal email to discuss further.
Da wohne ich
Thank you for the post! My grandfather's house was in the vacant lot at the 2:08 mark! Spent every summer of my life running up and down that beach. Again Great footage brought back a ton of memories! Gordon Pass is the name of the inlet!
Really enjoyed the video SUB to me back for great rc vids!!
Ha! Very cool!
Somewhat of a vague answer!
Hi 2394040: I just found the title of this song. It's the Sortie in E flat.
It's too bad Virgil Fox never got to experience these acoustics when he was organist here. I remember, in '83 anyway, how dead they were! The church made the right move in removing any sound-absorbing material. HUGE difference now!
I can't remember the title, but the composer is Louis James Alfred Lefebure-Wely; a 19th century French organist and composer. Very popular in his day.
Wow, the acoustic improvements actually give the place some reverb now! What a difference.
You are right! My graduation from Union Theological Seminary was at Riverside Church and the neve was pretty dead in 1963.
Worked on Saturdays doing tuning and routine maintenance for Virgil and Frederick Swann on this fine instrument. It sounds great now, with the much needed acoustic improvements and tonal re-regulation. Well done.
@derdirk71 the organist is practising Sortie in Eb by Lefebure Wely
As an organist, I am jealous! Not only is this person very talented, he or she is clearly having a great time. It's a reminder that music doesn't have to be serious.
Cool. Wouldn't call this practicing though. This is goofing off. Nothing wrong with goofing off at all. It just isn't practicing.
Pssst AndyGoofOffAndStuff.......If you had 10,000 years to practice, you could not play this piece as it was played.......now, go back and work on your coloring book.....and please try to stay within the lines for a change!
It's also sort of getting into the music!
Is this church bapstit?
When the Riverside Church opened in 1930, its first denominational affiliation was American Baptist, which is a liberal denomination. Later on, a second denominational affiliation with the United Church of Christ happened. So it has two denominational affiliations, American Baptist and UCC/Congregational, both liberal denominations. It styles itself as interdenominational, which it can since it's Baptist and Congregational both.
This church is basically everything now...... Like all walks and types of people are there
American Baptist affiliation but non-denominational.
Baptist!!!
Pssst.....Joe........what is a "bapstit"....? Must be some new fangled kind of church?
As a keyboardist, I can only say that I wish I had this wonderful organist's fingers and feet! What a gift! Thank you!
John.......Sorry......but my nice and talented fingers and feet are all for myself.....!
this is the best recording of the Sortie in Eb that I can find.
well, hope some people will actually check me out practicing ....
Sortie in Eb...yes...Lefebure-Wely.
