Nine Of The Best Cosmic Horror Movies Of All Time
He was great as Johnny Ringo in tombstone
It sounds like you're the one who had a stroke as soon as you tried to get to the point of this video.
I met him once also. He's a very nice guy.
This is a nice tribute to the late Bill Paxton. I don't understand the title, though. As an aside, it seems like an odd omission not to mention the two films he directed, which included Frailty (which he also starred in). Paxton definitely elevated every project he was associated with. All the best.
I NEED A UPDATE PLEASE 🙏🏼❤
He's definitely awesome in the Terminator and Aliens. I haven't seen him in that western. Only Western movies I've watched were with Clint Eastwood, and Billy the kids Young Guns with Emilio Esteban I believe is his name. I'm definitely going to check out that Western with Michael since you recommended it. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍
Knowing what we know about Hollywood...he probably had substance abuse problems related to the fact that not just women were given the casting couch experience, I heard he was a "kept man" for a very rich much older woman early on in his career as well.
You forgot The Rock, he was great in that. Still was handsome like he was in Aliens.
Favourite role? Terminator as Kyle Reece, Aliens as Cpl Dwayne Hicks, the Abyss as Hiram Coffey and Tombstone as Ringo. In each role he is simply perfect.
Loved this movie was actually so good 😊
Me too
I loved him in aliens and terminator what a fantastic actor
Those who come to God through faith in Christ are forgiven for their sins and able to look on God's glory. Corinthians 3 13
He payed a laywer in Friedkin's «Rampage».
As someone who's also a (recovering) alcoholic I can respect the struggles he's had with it. Always liked his characters; calm, collected Chad types. Wish him the best.
I was very surprised that he played the villain in the Abyss. I am very familiar with Biehn and i saw the Abyss but I just didnt recoginze him. The mustache and the change in acting made him just another person. He really is a great actor.
80s 90s movies paradise
I don't think I've ever seen (or even heard of) The Void. Definitely will be watching that soon.
I can’t stop thinking about the underlying vibe of 80s aesthetic. Sienna’s opening montage stays with me. How it’s laced with trauma/grindhouse nods, and the music adds this nostalgia I never knew I needed. I love the vagueness and intrigue of Art, leaving everyone guessing.
in alien 3 they used only for 1 scene cgi and that was when they showed the cracking dome of the runner alien at the end before it explodes. good video tho well done
I think he overdid it in 3. Trying to make Art too funny. The subtleness was better in 1 and 2
Screw these british readers, this is AMERICA.
tbh 2001 a space odyssey is great cosmic horror
johnny ringo
I understand I have Lazyism😑😒😒😒
He also rocks in the Rock too.
I really liked him in Navy Seals.
He was also a main-charcter in Westwood Studios Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun, (also dressed in tactical armor lol).
"Well if it isn't Johnny Ringooo You look a bit agitated" ...Doc Holiday
He's great , I wish him the best...........!!!🤠👍
Underrated Great actor!
Toombstone. I didnt even recognize him from Abyss
I'd expected the reason for Biehn's career not going where I'd thought it would to be down to typecasting and maybe choosing roles poorly -- didn't know about his drinking. Glad he's doing better these days. It surprised me a little that he wasn't cast in Avatar, knowing how Cameron often likes to reuse the same actors, though I guess we know the reason now. He definitely had the chops to play Stephen Lang's part as the main antagonist; he's actually 4 years younger than Lang. Have to say, he is a guy who does rock a moustache, which isn't the case for everyone! Thinking on that, Timothy Olyphant - who's about to star in the Alien series on FX - always reminded me slightly of Biehn, at least in his moustachioed role in Deadwood.
He turned 40. Like you will one day. Except you sat mostly touring your computer. Good luck catching up
Johnny Ringo! Hecks yeah!
He was amazing in K2!
He also was hot in Navy Seals! Great action movie with Charlie Sheen.
“Alright, we waste him. No offense.”
I love this review. Not only, because it was positive. But it was delivered with clarity, knowledge, and insight, discussing the elements of the film in a capturing way. Great narrator voice. Inspired to see the film. Thank you "Fade To Black!"
It's hard to beat Michael Bihns' performance in "Terminator", but he did 'crazy' really well in Kurt Russells' Wyatt Earp movie, and as a Navy Seal-gone-nuts movie.
He was a big action hero of mine. He played a kind of believable character, not some steroided monstrosity that much of Hollywood went for in the '80's. I met him at a convention a few years back and spoke with him for a few minutes. He impresed me as a very straightforward yet humble man.
Annihilation not being on this list is a serial crime. I’d argue it’s one of those rare cases where whether you read the book or watch the movie first retroactively improves your overall experience. So many little things happen in that film that make it an infinitely re-watchable experience. the music, acting, and presentation puts it on par with greats like The Thing.
@@trashrat8365 it's on the Part 2 video!
I think campiness really works against cosmic horror
I'm not the type to idolize actors, but Beihn was my heart throb when he was younger. His acting is top notch (and under-appreciated), and those soulful eyes... OI! Another movie he was in that I didn't see mentioned was 'The Seventh Sign.' Honestly, I think he carried the whole movie, though he was 'overshadowed' by Demi Moore's character. (She didn't suck, but her performance was lackluster, at best.) Glad to hear he's working to overcome his demons!
Yeah, where the hell's he biehn?
He started as a 'good guy' and moved to bad guy. Never cared for him as a bad guy. What do I know?
Michael Biehn also played a soldier in the Mandalorian. I liked his character as Corp. Hicks ❤
...how 'bout NAVY SEALS...
I loved him in The Abyss as the self mutilating simmering pressure cooker of a G Man Spook operative, who is deliciously ambiguous, since we, the audience, are never quite sure if it’s the decompression sickness that’s driving a secretly nervous man over the edge, or if he’s just a psycho-maniac who just can’t keep a lid on his nut jobbery in longer. There’s way more nuance to the way he plays that than many give him credit for. And he really gives that movie an edge with an antagonist that could have, in less capable hands, gotten lost in the shuffle of space aliens, deep sea diving suspense, battles against the elemental storms, government shenanigans and the romance between the two leads. I always wheel out The Abyss for any mix of movie buffs with very different tastes, since it has something for everyone; romance, philosophy, politics, action, spies, suspense, aliens, take your pick. Whenever I think of him, I usually visualise him in The Rock, looking cool as F, repeatedly shouting, “I cannot give that order!” in response to Ed Harris (again) begging him to have his navy seals stand down, just before he’s shot to pieces . . . Killed by Ed again. And, though I think his Johnny Ringo (Tombstone) was probably his finest performance, my personal favourite will always be his Corporal Hicks in Aliens. There are just too many moments when he steals the scene right from under whomever he’s sharing the screen with. And I was the perfect age when that movie was new, so I have a special place in my heart for it.
This is not a list of cosmic horror films, this is generally lovecraftian inspired horrors and most of them are just thrillers, cosmic horror is a part of lovercraftians stories… so… just number 4 and number 1 are by definition cosmic horror.
