we fastened the stuffed toy onto the saddle with string; great progress leading Alpha with saddle and stuffed toy on his back; when we removed the saddle, something touched his leg and he spooked; we will be touching his leg with various objects in the next few lessons

alpaca saddle training

Alpha was much more cooperative today: he did figure 8's, walked over the jump pipe, carried the cinched saddle (with saddle blanket under it), walked into the shed and around the shed. next week we will place a stuffed toy on the saddle and do the same maneuvers as we did today

halter successfully put on Alpha's nose, saddle put on his back for the first time, and then lead Alpha around the larger training area with no problems occurring.
