How to tie tefillin knots
How to make your own Shabbat "belt"
You are without an eruv on Shabbat, and you need to get in and out of your apartment?
This video shows you how to make a "garment" (necklace) that will permit you to observe the laws of Shabbat AND to carry your house keys in the eruv-less public domain. You should be able to do this with items you have at home. It's Adar, but this is no joke!

How to tie a "standard" knot for the arm phylactery for all t'fillin wearers: Ashkenazi and Sefaradi and Hassidic (i.e., wrapping in OR wrapping out). There are three steps of movies for left- and for right-handed tying. This is step one for both. Remember at the beginning, you should recite: 'l'shem mitzvat t'fillin' - לשם מצות תפילין

Thanks to your video we managed to renew a retsua from my sefaradi small tefilin shel Yad. I mean the retsua was worn out to under 9mm around the arm. We made the retsua slide upwards We tide the new Yod And followed your instructions... all the time keeping the Bayt on the "bunny tail" So the Bayt went through the "bunny hole" Do you have a trick to drive a completely new retsua through the maâbarta of a small sefaradi shel Yad? Do we have to open the Bayt?!
ישר כוחך, but you didn't explain how the non-sfardim non-chasidim finish it off!
My son was getting ready to put on his teffilin for the first time and we relized the night before that the sofer tied his shel yad askenaz instead of sefard ....luckilly your video was very easy to follow and helped us change it so we didn't have to postpone the event..... Thank you very much!
One of the best very good thank you
What a great video, very clear and easy to follow. Thank you.
two shoes strings, to 2 key rings and one of the key rings is going through the actual key
C'est une grand mitzva, Merci beaucoup ב״ה
So, you would just wear this as a necklace, then? Because it looks way too small to be a "belt". Please explain.
Make a bigger one and wear as a belt.
Can't wear keys as a necklace unless the chain itself is ornamental and the keys are keeping the chain intact, or if the keys are somehow ornamental.
easy enough, thank you!
A simple and informative video! Thank you for the useful information!
Thank you. Great video.
Gracias, este video fue de mucha ayuda... Arieh
Toda Lecha. WE can be Yiddin on the ends of the earth.
For shel yad, many Sefaradi communities wrap "in," toward the body, which means that the loop in the retzuah passes through the ma'abarta. Many Ashkenazi communities wrap "out," away from the body, which means that the loop in the retzuah is next to the body and does not pass through the ma'abarta.
what differences are there in safaradi and azkanazi?
חזק וברוך

Thank you for the help. Very nice presentation!

Thanks a lot if it weren't for you I wouldn't be able to were my teffilin tomorrow
@nicolasbox - that is correct - if you look through the other videos, you'll see that some of them are marked "left-handed" and some "right-handed," so if you need right-handed, you need to go with the other videos. cheers!
THANK YOU,YOU DID A MITZVAH.
Lol "bunny hole". A really great video, thanks.
I thought the diagrams I used in the past were fairly easy to follow, but this is the best I have ever seen Yasher koach.
good video Don't forget to say "לשם קדושת תפילין"
Toda Raba rabbi this is so informative
Dear Yehonatan, Sefaradim wrap out, away from the body. If you put the loop close to your body, it does not tighten, and the knot of the yod would be on the wrong side of the bayit. If you are Ashkenazi, please consult the knot video for tying Ashkenazi t'fillin.
Do you know how and can you post how to tie tefillin for Sephardim? Thanks. Videos are great!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I thought I ruined my knot and i panicked and your video helped!!!
This is AWESOME!!! Nothing else out there like this - and because he tells it like a story, it's easier to both understand and remember.
