Trading card games, for the most part, use the same deck building mechanic of allowing 3-4 copies of a card (barring some restriction or limitation). Union Arena allows up to four copies of any card that shares a name to be used in a deck. Since this is the starter deck, it will usually adhere to this, with the exception of starter deck exclusive cards (those not found in the booster set). Generally publishers will only include 1 or 2 copies of those cards as a way of incentivizing players to purchase multiple starters to get a play set of 4.

@@AJIgartua Good question! The Max has a really nice feel to it and the magnets seem to snap into place far better than the regular box. That being said, you can get two regular deck boxes for the price of one Max. Both boxes hold the same amount of dice, so it comes down to personal preference. For me, I prefer the Max. The feel of the box and magnets justifies the price difference.

Great question and I’d love to help! First suggestion would be these two decks. Both are self contained and that is all you need. The next option would be in the world of Magic the Gathering. A few years back they released a booster set called Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. There was a subset of cards in the set that had alternate art Godzilla versions. There were a couple of chase cards that were only released in Japanese so they look really good. Bushiroad just announced a brand-new Godzilla card game coming out sometime in 2025. We should hear more about that one sometime by the end of the year. Lastly, there was a game called Chrono Clash: Godzilla that was release a few years back. I’m only mentioning it because it is one of the few Godzilla card games released in English. The game series had a short print run and ended up ending, so getting a copy can be a little pricey these days. I hope that helps.

They were all a breeze for the most part. The Furies were probably the only tough nuts to crack. They are supposed to be ghostly, and as such are hollow inside. This left some minor supports remaining but they are in at an odd angle, so you have to really take your time to clean them up.

They have taken their sculpts to a whole new level. If you are interested in giving the game a try, check out the upcoming two-player starter set releasing next month. It includes two 30point armies and some scatter terrain. The rules are free via the Warmachine app, so you’re not looking at a massive investment to try out.

Great question! There are currently 6 Challenger decks available (Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, two for Critical Roll, and the two Godzilla decks). Each box has a single 60 card deck but with 3 different characters that could potentially “pilot” the deck. So two players would need two decks. That being said, Challenger Decks are not like the regular starter decks. They are built out of the box with many fun gimmicks and strategies that some new players might take a little getting used to. While I think they are great for new players and veterans alike, it might take a game or three to really get what the deck is wanting to do.

That model is so fantastic looking, even beyond the splendid paint job. Photos/video do not do it justice.

I’m sorry to hear that. The game is rather popular and has been around for some time (granted as ‘UFS’ before a rebranding). They are available through the game’s official web store if you are still interested.

You can find these in most hobby/game stores that stock trading card games. To my knowledge the Challenger Series line will not be made available to mass market store (like Walmart or Target).

That is a good question. We did on the first few but we noticed most people were skipping passed the commentary for just the unboxing. The new Godzilla one we are posting today is a bit longer and we take our time reading the cards and commenting here and there. If there is more interest in that sort of thing, we'll absolutely return to doing that!

@@TheLateNightPlayers i like the fast forwarding, it was the auto-focus going in and out so much, it became noticable more because of the fast forwarding, almost strobing a bit. i still appreciate the video and it was well done, better than alot of folks who just use shaky cam. i should have offered more feedback in my intital response rather than be cranky lol

It was good feedback, though! We upgraded our equipment recently and are using the Sony ZV-E10. Obviously we still have a few kinks to work out.

That is a phenomenal idea, especially if you already have a deck box you are really fond of. I have considered that exact question a couple of times. There is a line of magnetic paint/primer that I thought about buying to test on some of my older, cheap deck boxes. I figure that if I tear up an older $3 Ultra Pro deck box it'll be no real loss. That all being said, the current line of Heavy Play deck boxes are rather awesome. I'm a fan of the window in front as I tend to forget what commander or deck is in a box at times.

Are you referring to the gaming model or the 75mm art model?

I guess I have only seen the gaming piece, forgot there was the bigger version!

I had to dig through my pile of shame because I’ve not touched the gaming model since the unboxing. The head piece is a different color and the details are a little more shallow in comparison to the rest of the body. I honestly get them impression that the head might have been 3D printed versus traditional resin casting.

We’ve been using them for months now and are absolutely in love with them. The sleeves are definitely better than we originally took them to be.

Thanks of much for the compliment! We sincerely appreciate it. Rob wasn't wanting to be on camera but it was fun putting him on the spot like that. The playmat only has magnets in the portion that folds over to close it. Unfortunately that would make sticking the cards to the inside of the playmat impossible. The best way we can describe the inside of the playmat is to imagine one a very high end iPad or tablet case. The exterior is a hard, almost leather feel, while the inside is a soft material.

Glad we could offer these up for everyone! GenCon was hectic and, as much as we tried, we could only get one of each of the Luke and Vader. Otherwise we’d have a bunch to throw at people. The game is phenomenal, by the way.

I had some hiccups getting started in MKIII so I never had a real go at it. MKIV really revitalized my interest. I’m trying to get a local store to get involved but it’s like pulling teeth getting things ordered sometimes.

There weren’t many deals out side of some boardgame publishers. Several publishers were sold out of a lot of their key titles by morning of the second day due to trucks not arriving. I’m assuming the strike at the shipping ports on the west coast earlier are still affecting things. Bandai ran out of starters for One Piece day one, so anyone who denied ransacked the other card vendors for product.

Absolutely! This was the faction that made me stop and really give MK4 a second glance.

@@TheLateNightPlayers Right a huge update to their model Building. Ive been playing Warmachine/Hordes for 20 years. still have the old pewter models. Super basic but super sturdy.

This was something a bit new for me (I either never base or do something super basic) so I was rather nervous attempting it. I am now a super fan of this stuff. If I build a larger Khador force, they'll definitely get snow bases.

@@TheLateNightPlayers they do fit pretty well with Khador. My entire Khador Force is city snow based. I layed out a brick pattern prior painted ,added some simple grass tuffs. And then snowed it up.

I did because I applied multiple layers of the weathering powder. It was my first time using any sort of weathering power, so I wasn't sure how much to apply.

I totally agree. The detail in the mono-pose figures alone is reason enough to justify it. As they grow more experienced with the process, I truly can't wait to see what they bring out.

I received the replacement hammerhead in the mail today and they packaged it perfectly to protect it. Privateer Press has a customer service that really is in the top of the gaming industry.

They really are awesome! We dabbled with Warmachines/Hordes many years ago and to say their stuff has come a long way would be an understatement!
