An interesting point about fortifications. They have a deterance factor. If an enemy bypasses a fortified point. Under many circumstances it can raid outward. Or a specific point is needed for smooth logistics and transport. Humans have a history of defending fortresses to the point where defense is impossible. Or even unto death. We have always trained for target-rich environments, where mission commands are in effect from the first shot fired by the aggressor, at least in the Nordic armies. Guerrilla warfare, sabotage, targeted assassinations of enemy leadership, and disruption of supply lines will be employed to weaken the enemy’s resolve and capabilities. And most importantly-never, ever give up. However, it’s disheartening to see that since joining NATO, we are beginning to shift away from our traditional approach to handling aggressors, partly moving away from the principles of mission command and total war 😢.

This story brings to mind the Andre Norton "Beast Master" novels. The video is, however, far more preachy, while Norton usually left most preaching to the mind of the reader. This is not bad, though.
