You came close, but ultimately missed the point. Celeste's static nature is *intentional*. Taeko fashioned the persona to be this haughty, looks-down-at-everyone queenly type, and to change from that would invalidate the persona and make her Taeko again, and she desperately doesn't want that because she hates herself, so much that being someone others might hate (Celeste) is preferable. It's weird that you grasp her delusional nature yet seem to complain about it instead of analyze it. That's supposed to be your job, since Makoto (the player character) fails at it. Your takeaway that she "hates Makoto" is baffling because that whole final FTE clearly showed otherwise (we see her trying to keep the haughty, dismissive Celeste act on as a cover for how she actually wants Makoto to be happy with his C-rank designation and stay at her side as a "knight"...aka a friend.) School Mode elaborates on this further in her Trigger Happy Heart event and ending. You also don't seem to get that the whole "adapt to living at the school" was always a lie because being trapped in a place where your life is always in danger naturally freaks Celeste out (she probably did adapt for real when it was a shelter made by Kyoko's father, but her memories were wiped and the circumstances are different now), she lied about it because she was hoping she could influence OTHERS to truly adapt which would turn down the risk of murders happening and she could feel safer (it's why she told Makoto to give up on thinking of escaping or "it can only lead to murder", since she genuinely can't see any way out except through the rules of the Killing Game.) And the purpose behind her castle dream went over your head: it's not just because of how rich and pretty it all is, it's because then she could live her life pretending to be Celeste and not Taeko forever. She hates herself that much that her dream is to forever escape any reminder of her true self. Likable? No, not especially. But interesting? I think so.

Honestly I feel like a Selfish self serving character is good. We can’t have them all be good natured. I mean We have characters like Buyakua and Nagito and he is well liked. Motives don’t have to be relatable. It’s just how danganronpa goes with these unrelatable motives Celestias is just lazy, and Having Korekiyos motive be just Im crazy feels certainly underwhelming. If you want a good selfish motive I recommend you look at- **SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA DESPAIR TIME** Ace From Danganronpa despair time. He was afraid of being killed in this game and he was the most hated person in the group and The attempted murder must have traumatized him.

Fun fact all of her backstories in her free time events are based on degenerate manga. So I guess she’s no better than Hifumi.

His characterization was amazing right up until the trial, that's it. He genuinely made me want to learn anthropology at times, and I could see him as someone I could autistic ramble with until his characterization was assassinated so rapidly that it surprised pretty much everyone to ever play the game.

As this games official number 1 enjoyer I have to say that putting coconut collector in D tier is a personal attack. Other than that it's a great video. I appreciate to comedic, maybe new to the series approach because I've watched every essay on this game and I've heard every serious interpretation and development fact already.

SPOILER Jeane is foreshadowed in and out of the game, travis once loved her and kept a picture of her (not knowing she was his sister) and had faint memories of her, he named his cat jeane probably for that too (same goes for his daughter), but yeah its not a lot

Hate to say it but you missed a lot of stuff in this game, and completely missed the actual point of it. Completely avoiding talking about Thunder Ryu which is the entire reason why his death was important to Travis other than "Them saying he taught Travis how to fight" in one cutscene. Death Metal is also not unimportant to Travis, because he represents the rabbit hole he's about to jump down in getting into becoming a killer, and that the life of an assassin is never going to escape him. That's why Death Metal answers Travis's question of what Paradise really is with "A place to die." He mirrors Travis in the sense that he's going to become like him, never being able to have a dull moment in his life again and that his past will always catch up with him. Travis also doesn't just want to be rank 1 so he can have his way with Sylvia, Travis wants to prove that he's the strongest ever, prove that he is the best fighter the world has seen. He's an allegory and metaphor for the average gamer which is why Travis is the way he is in the first place. Some greasy otaku who thinks he's the coolest ever while in reality just being some dumb loser who got way too in over his head, not understanding the gravity of the situation he's gotten himself in and the importance of thinking of people as more than just obstacles in his way. Each bossfight in this game represents a different ideal and caricature. Bad Girl being the best example since she's similar to Travis in many ways. Representative of the average sex worker in her appearance and how she talks about being an assassin. "It's just a job, a daily grind." Also wearing a lolita styled outfit with heavy melted face makeup and also with how overtly sexualized her death scene is. You also completely missed out on how the game treats Travis and how the entire game is about his character arc of realizing how messed up he's become and that becoming an assassin ain't all the glitz and glamour he thought it would be, finding out that killing people for money isn't infact very fun or cool. Almost every single bossfight in this game shows you this, Death Metal, Dr. Peace, and Bad Girl the most. They represent how depraved someone in this kind of business can get and how nullified people can be to an act like killing. Which again, is what Travis finds out the hard way. There's a ton of different other examples this game has but I feel like you just looked at it on a surface level without really delving into the inner themes and metaphors this game has.

The no more heroes game is about a young adult with a cat (jeane) named travis touchdown who's a fan of wrestling and anime, also a decent sword fighter, his ambition and something he cant quite remember motivate him to a mad dance amidst his ranked peers in a killer hunt, with the "help" and "motivation" of silvia he eventually will reach his goal and somewhat changes as a man but not much yet

The direction they took Deeps character really disappointed me.

I hope he will turn out to be a lot more powerful than we think or even somehow turns out to be so owerpowered with his telepathy working on everyone (he just doesn't know it yet) but will probably need to have some kind of a redemption arc also.

i think he is amazing and is my favorite character solely because his character was inspired by dice by hide and visual kei bandmen in general and i think that is awesome because i love hide and i rarely see characters based on visual kei especially in more popular media
