Camp Trips and Paddle Dips
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 ส.ค. 2012
My name is Randy Feener and I invite you to see life through a lens of music and nature. Videos of times in nature and the forests and occasional music performances. Dabble in bush craft, homesteading, self reliance , primitive skills., forest therapy , pursuits of wild game and navigating lakes and rivers in search of fish.
My musical side being a percussionist, will be accompanying fellow band mates and friends on stage and in jam sessions.
It's a good life.
Making wood chips and getting wet!
Rented a wood chipper for some branch and debris clean up!. We also did some more Deer season prepping that involved me falling into the lake! Amazing September weather has us in the kayak and Canoe as well. Two friends help out this weekend and enjoy some time on the water.

มุมมอง 13121 วันที่ผ่านมา
Quick video this time. Along with my Son Shane, we raise a couple of stands in new locations and get some boots on the ground scouting for the day. Its just the beginning of the early season and the actual hunting season starts in a few weeks for us. Stay tuned for the rest of this season for some more deer footage and more work planned at the cabin!

Today has been a couple years in the making. Finally able to get a piece of equipment in to get rid of tree stumps and debris left over from two Hurricanes!. Alot of the work has been done with hand tools and sweat. Today...was very happy to be using hydraulic oil and diesel fuel! Big Thanks to Darcy Graham for having him and that machine join me on Camp Trips and Paddle Dips for a couple of da...
We're having a Heatwave...and installing a Woodstove?
มุมมอง 1.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Record breaking temperatures didn't stop us from installing a new to me woodstove this weekend! The old woodstove is from the 80's and not very efficient any longer. Glad to have this new unit in. My son Shane adds his helping hands this time. Thanks to Mike L for this new stove. Will keep us warm for sure!
What a mess! Cabin bedroom window!

Another weekend trip and more repairs at the cabin. A small amount of visible rot turned into a big job. I repair a bottom sill, rebuild an exterior wall and try to rebuild a window frame.
Finish work and canoe Trip. Chaga harvest!

A quick video this time. finish off the majority of the Hurricane clean up and finally enjoy that Spring Sun. Two days of straight sunshine, but still cool. I harvest a large piece of Chaga across from the cabin and take some extra time to explore the lake from my canoe. A nice peaceful trip, before all of the black-flies emerge!
Its Spring 2024. !!

Finally...back to the cabin in 2024. I started back in January dropping trees that fell in Hurricane Fiona and Hurricane Lee. It wasn't all work...we had a little opportunity for some trout fishing and managed to visit an old camping spot. Did a little work inside too! Lots of manual labour in this one with putting water back in the tank, hooking up the plumbing again, cutting trees and moving ...

What a spot Randy! Time well spent right there sir no matter the chore! Enjoy! Hope to get up some day! 👍🍻
Destroying useful firewood to make useless wood chips nice job. It all burns brother big and small. The real small stuff is called kindling.
@@DougBird-p9g agreed…but this is the last phase of processing 2 back to back years of Hurricane falls. I’ve got quite literally years of firewood and kindling. Unfortunately, I won’t get to using the best quality of the stuff ( from two woodstoves ) before rot starts to set in. I would much have rather used it to produce useful heat…but the chips will be used in mulch and a great base for my Hugo mounds in future gardens. Try not waste any natural resources!
That’s a nice looking pile of firewood
It’s will keep that place going for quite some time!
Cool vid.. great scenery all around👍🏻
Decent apple haul this year!
Definitely…that one tree produces quite a bit! Too bad it suffered so much damage!
Summer is speeding by. Good luck in the upcoming season.
Could be the same guy .
Nice👍 good luck this season!!
@@whitetailwarriorsdeercamp88 thanks! Right back at you. Best of luck to you and your crew this season!
@@feenerandy thank you👍🦌🦌🦌
Looks delicious!
Where's hard taco shells look like Del Taco😂
next time!! Its on!!
You have an amazing piece of heaven my friend
Thanks again. Lots of work for now but there will be always something to do. I don't mind working down there at all and the off grid lifestyle suits me well.
You have a great looking cabin with lot's of charm . I can only imagine the story's .
Thanks very much! there a few stories and hopefully many more to be created!
Just a small repair eh 😂 Looks good now !
funny how thing get bigger when you uncover it...
Skills and then some! Looks awesome!
Looks great Randy . Going to do some similar work this weekend at our camp .
Thanks Rob! The machines certainly speed up things!
That will make a job a lot easier 😎
It was so good to have that machine. I thought those big leftover stumps were going to give it a hard time. Amazing of the power in those smaller machines!
Great video. Many greetings from Serbia
@@Milivush Thank you and welcome aboard!!
Great video 1 & 2 sir. Love your cabin. I am so looking forward to this fall and spending time at my cabin and doing some deer hunting.
Hope to see some of that footage!!
Good 💞🖐️🖐️🙏
Nice upgrade there . Slick way to cut pipe too .
Sure is
That is the ticket right there!!!
Thanks to you my friend!
looks good !! That stove should do the trick !!
Definitely!!
Gonna appreciate that stove this fall and winter. Great video my friend Like the music also you used
Thank you. A friend of mine wrote the “ theme “ I’ve been using these last bunch of vids. I added the percussion to it and he made the permanent recording. I think it fits pretty well too!
Nice video👍 love the camp. That wood stove will do you just fine. We got one similar. Enjoyed this thanks for bringing us along
Thank you. I’m thinking that one will cook us out! Will be nice in the middle of winter for sure!
@@feenerandy yes are’s cooks us out 😎
That's living right there.
Thank you. We do enjoy the experiences this place provides!
Great Place & boy what a great job you did! Primo :)
Thanks so much
The window sill can have an external downward slope, preventing rainwater from infiltrating.
Agreed. About 20 degrees and also needs a relief cut to the underside to break the surface tension to prevent water wicking back.
Lookin good !!!!!
Thanks Wayne. Have to come down and see it!
Nice picture Jim Ross ATL 😮😮😮😮
Thanks Jim. Appreciate it!!
Peaceful place. Great compilation of clips. Reminds me of weekends at dad's camp when I was a kid.
And the theme music rocks too!!😂
Nice video looked very relaxing 👍
It’s been a rare occurrence to get a few consecutive days with some nice weather. Good to get to the end of the work but great to relax a bit and enjoy that spring sun!
Randy you have a piece of heaven there. Have you ever tried log tongs for moving wood? I bought some a few years back and love them.
Thanks Brian. I know you have the respect and adoration for places like this. For now, I use the pulp hook for a quick pile, but I am gearing up a set of tongs, chokers and skid cone to use after I chip the debris. There is a lot more logs down but will use my ATV to pull everything out to the road. Have to slice the stumps down to ground level before I get anything drivable in there.
The log tongs i use are just the hand ones. They are quick for the 6 to 10" stuff and you don't have to bend over which i found really helpful grab the end of log and drag
Nice video!! Seems like there’s always things to do at camp but it’s fun work. That’s how I look at (at my camp). Thanks for taking us along. Love the place
It’s definitely fun work!! Sore and tired by the end of the day but appreciate the efforts put in. Satisfaction soreness is different kind and don’t mind it! Thanks for watching!
Looking good !!!
Wow you guys are doing amazing at the camp. Randy you still move like you are 20. Great job and free BTUs for home. Great video.
Thanks Steve. Sure wish I felt 20 after a few days of moving around like that!
Looks like you have no shortage of fire wood for the camp .
You don’t see 1/4 of it. Firewood for years and years.
Nice video. Nothing better than being at deer camp and eating the food. Meals taste better at camp. Congrats on the harvest
Thanks kindly! Appreciate the time you took to watch! Hopefully , you get to stroll through some of the others. Been lots of work done in the last couple of years.
Nice video. Looks like some nice territory to be hunting. New subscriber!!
Thank you. I definitely enjoy it! Right back at ya! New subscriber to yours. Look forward to your content. Just small game season is on for us now but we’re under so much snow now. Will be just hanging around camp now for some seasonal peace and quiet.
@@feenerandy wow!! No snow here fact we were having record highs unheard of this time of yr. Thanks for subscribing appreciate it. Just out doing for the fun of it
This song is about my uncle art and I love the old guy he made local history in our community he was a good man
Music ruined the whole experience for me
Try more hunting and less--- all that other stuff
Thanks @fishaholic122 for the comment. You'll have to trust me that there was plenty hunting going on, just didn't share as much of that particular footage. 10 minutes of many days spent at the camp for hunting and " all that other stuff" I'll certainly try to include more hunting footage for future vids!
Great video music is also great !
Thanks Bonny!
Very nice job on the video Enjoy the harvest of the best of N.S organic meat.
Agreed!! I look forward to a healthy menu this approaching new year!
Nice job on the video Randy Takes a lot of time to do that setting up cameras and editing footage. Great looking place my friend
Thanks Brian. Definitely enjoy my time there!
Nice job Randy . Great video .
Thanks Rob!
Awesome
Very relaxing Randy. The BBQ works great!
We live in a beautiful place. The contrast between the concrete jungle and your piece of paradise says it all.
Relaxing to watch - nice work !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Paradise right there !!
