    Getting ready to start the build this weekend , how did it hold up over the past year ?

      Great! I had to remove it in order to attach my snow blade and frame that anchors to the rear frame but that will be coming off shortly and my winch will be added then.

      Let me know how it goes and feel free to ask any questions if necessary. I have found only one drawback. If pulling a cart or other item with CG behind its wheels it can lift the hitch up as it is free to float. Just be sure to have some down pressure on the hitch and it will work great.

    Awesome, and I love that you were able to use the stock tank and side covers, but making them look custom. Great work, it looks like a lot of fun to ride!

    I just had the opportunity to move a large limb from one of my mowed trails with this hitch. I simply unhooked the end hook and unwound the cable enough to hook around the limb. Using the garden tractor I skidded it out of the way. I put the cable hook back on the eye bolt and I had my hitch again!

    I think it's time to invest in a new video camera so you can thoroughly cover these projects. Maybe something to think about for your upcoming retirement? ; )

    where did you find the 18 inch rims? I'm doing a similar build and this was super motivating.

    • @johndhead1
      @johndhead1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      On e-bay. I searched "Borrani" style rims and the correct number of spoke holes. I finally found someone who sold them. It was three or four years ago so forgive me if I don't remember his name.

    • @johndhead1

      Yes, Get the proper spool hubs for the bike and be sure to match the holes and spoke pattern if possible with the modern sportster models.

      Thank You. My first motorcycle in High School was a 36 HD Knucklehead. I still wish I had that one! I have had Nortons, Triumphs, BSAs, Velocettes etc. but they are all kick start motorcycles. At age 59 I finally decided that my kick start days are over, so when my son (a HD mechanic) told me about this stock 2004 at a good price, I decided to pick it up and make it my own! As I would build it. It took me about 9 month's to complete. I needed to wait for summer to arrive so it was warm enough in my garage to paint it.
