This is a name game that we play in the music room. Ideally you would play in a circle and each child would take a turn singing their part. The way I teach this game is exactly what you see in the video. I use several puppets to demonstrate how the game is played and then have the children join in. that's when we start to play the game.

I love it! For most of my life, I have dismissed this song as just a children’s song. Now I realize I’m one of the [not-so-]young sailors hearing the sweet sound, realizing it’s calling my name. A simple children’s song, profound and deeply moving. I looked for this song with lyrics, and your video is one of the first that popped up. I’m gathering you’re a grade school teacher. Your students are very lucky and blessed to have you as their teacher and to learn songs from you. Some of them will remember these songs by heart they learned from you at 7 years old, even when they’re adults. I have. They’re little gems that bring joy and encouragement.
