colleen hoover too. oh man, i’ve even watched youtube videos of people either actively reading one of her books, or of someone reviewing the whole plot of one of her books, and it is always TERRIBLE!

Yes! Absolutely I'm so excited for Will to piece all the things together and even more so for C.S. Pacat to blow my mind with all the pieces I haven't even thought to look at. Everyday I think about this series and eagerly await the next book 🤣

It's literally the worst! Just let me enjoy the POV I'm in!! I cannot tell you how many time I've ended up hating characters simply because they kept interrupting the good parts 😂

I can do strange. The friend who listen to the audio book recently is someone who has just gotten back into reading and she HIGHLY recommended it, so I'm hoping it's weird enough to keep me going 😅 Bride was good for what it was but it don't think it will ever find its way to my top paranormal romances. I'd be excited to see what Ali Hazelwood could do if she kept writing in the genre tho!

Thank you 🥰 The quick version of my dissertation is that I am looking at the Harlem Renaissance as a shifting point in the perception of the American figure within the novel form but how it has largely been ignored by scholarship due to the archive's innate antiblackness

​@@PoppyMorreale I think I worded that poorly 😅 What my project aims to show is that shift is a move away from the "traditional" American figure within the novel (which usually breaks down to White heterosexual male) to one that INCLUDES Blackness as defined by the Harlem Renaissance authors. However because the Archive is built on white supremacy & anitblackness it has continued to refuse that new American figure. TLDR; I'm saying that literature studies within academia need a lot of reform to combat its innate antiblackness

I did the same thing with Hunger Games believe it or not XD My mom just asks me if I want to go to the movies and I say yes regardless of what they're going to see 😂

When I first read them as a kid, I loved the sequels. I'm not quite sure how they would hold up now 😂 I reread the first book a couple of months ago and found the main character incredibly whiney so I'm afraid to do a reread of the others lol

@@AstralLibrary My students usually have this as a choice in their book clubs, so I read it for that. I thought the first book was a decent dystopian story with a straightforward plot but it wasn't something I was excited to continue.

@@TrabensTomes I will say that I liked the way he depicted a futuristic society, especially in the fourth book Extras which looks at a society that is allowed to run rampant with technology and social media. I think he's recently returned to that world in his latest books, so at least your students have a lot to dive into if they love the book!
