MC22 Carburettor Sync
มุมมอง 111K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Balancing freshly rebuilt carbs, they were not bench balanced prior to fitting hence the high idle and poor initial result. Usually they won't be this far off prior to balancing but it gives you a clearer understanding of how the synchronization effects the bikes performance. Track night racing !!!
I hope to ride my FZR 250 3LN1 before Christmas . She is quite healthy and I am looking forward to it .
Hola qué pasó de que me perdí.... Porque editas el vídeo cuando se acelera Me paso mi mismo
Very helpful tuning because i own hornet 250! I will follow your tutorial! Thanks! Do you have any idea on the hornet 250 main jet and pilot jet size? Also the fuel screw on how many turns out? Thanks
I tubicini collegati ai manometri dove sono collegati nell'altro lato?
I am happy to have Lucas synchronisers from the USA . Not cheap but Uncle Patrick's recommendation . When I do bicycle work , I only use good quality tools likewise .
Godspeed Works , do you like good functioning examples of Yamaha FZR 250's . Do you like the 1989 3LN1 . Mine is black with custom blue graphics & a love message on its petrol tank! This was my girlfriend's idea . I am going to hang onto her (the 3LN1) as track days have been great even though I have access to other 250 inline fours of the era . She is my favourite overall . This is a personal thing though & she is well cared for .
My late Uncle Patrick showed me how to do this when I was 12 years old . He made sure I understood like doing a technical college assessment task that had to be passed .. This is the best way to let it sink in mentally . He was an Automotive Engineer / Mechanic .
from 2:08 to 2:12 you have only lowering idle?
Yes, the idle was lowered after both banks were balanced 👍
@@Godspeedworks In the fitters manual it is 1,700 RPM .
This is video what i needed, very useful and nice work I hope this channel will go with this everytime
The only useful video in YT about synch carbs.. Thank you.. A qeustion: do you think is better to start by turns CW or CCW ?
Carburettor system work is in some motorcycle textbooks . Especially older TAFE Australia ones .
Thanks mate, perfect video to help me do mine!!
thanks for the support and help 💯
Where did you get the enxhaust manifold?
Nice video. Where do you get those custom Speedometer? Very beautiful
This carburetor is dificult i need a support tools like this... 👍👍👍
how do you connect the carby compression kit up to the carby? just bought the same as yours and not sure how to connect it up? cheers
Mc22 carburetor and honda jade 250cc motorcycle carburetor is both are same sync system
Awesome Video mate, I came over from the Blog for this bikes build, it's an awesome bike!. I've just replaced the fuel tap on mine but now it isn't running so it's time to do the carbs 🙃. Your Blog has given me a lot of inspiration so I'll probably end up restoring it fully, awesome bikes!. Cheers.
The fuel lines needed checking when the tap was replaced . Then carburettor system flows / lines . My FZR' 250 3LN1 never had this problem as it has an electric motor driven pump like on the MC19 & others . Always put in fresh fuel & fuel filter after this aspect of work is completed .
love the dash conversion ;) great riding
Hi, why does your cylinder 1 look a lot more responsive than the other 3? Is it something wrong with the gauges or is the compression higher, jetting or fuel screw position different on the 1st cylinder? I've an MC22 myself which had been dismantled for years to be restored, looking to get these gauges as these are much cheaper than a Carbtune/SyncPro but wondering about the accuracy. Also, how did you set your pilot jet fuel screw? Thanks in advance! Sweet bike, good to see more MC22s in great condition!
Thanks! pretty cool to see these bikes are still as popular as ever. That gauge has nothing to do with the engine condition it's just the gauge setup, there are little T piece valves in the vacuum hoses that allow you to adjust the gauge feedback. I just had #1 a little too far out compared to the rest. As long as it sits even across the board when idling it's okay but usually I would be a bit more thorough. Hard to say with the pilot screw, it takes a few different tries to see what works best. I worked off the factory setting (2 turns out?) and settled on 2-1/8 turns in the end
@@Godspeedworks is the lcd screen you have aftermarket?
Hi, I’ve got a 1987 MC17. How are the gauges plugged into each carburettor or are they plugged into existing hoses existing hoses?
Hey mate, they aren't connected to the carbs at all. The gauges are connected to small nipples on the intake inlets. Just below the carb boots where they connect to the engine you should find a threaded hole on each inlet that you can screw a nipple in (if there is one not already there), hope this helps.
@@Godspeedworks thank you for taking the time to explain that, definitely helps. Will have a look at buying some gauges so I can get better performance and fuel economy, as it smells like maybe some carburettors are running a bit rich and maybe others too lean as it can be difficult to start when cold.
@@jaronstephens9894 Most MC22'S , particularly the downrated (R) series delivered in 1994 from production lines that I see in Australia are often out of synchronisation slightly or running too rich . People that do this think that they can regain power levels closer to that of earlier models in this series . Hence sooty exhaust internals are often seen . Sometimes a bit of smoke . This doesn't do much but increase carbon emissions & reduce efficiency .
What was happening on the curve, I was watching your videos and I really liked the dashboard, can you give me the information where you bought it?
The dashboard is the KOSO RX2N+. Google it and you can find an online shop suitable for your country. I purchased it from webike.japan however you can buy directly from KOSO I believe?
please, carburetor adjustment equipment name?, and where can i buy it bro
carburetor synchronizer
@@CarreraJP7-GT thank you so much bro
lol. just realised i bought the lead bike in this video (same number plate, i have the track glass and other bits to go with it) :D
Haha small world! that bike has had a rough life cosmetically, as most have, but as you can tell from this video and what we thought at the time too- it has an engine better than most MC22's getting around these days.
Hello friend, I loved the video consult where do I buy the dashboard of your motorcycle? I am interested in buying one for my mc22 project, greetings from arica-chile
Hi, you can purchase them on japan.webike website (japan.webike.net/products/21434530.html) I also have a write up of the installation on my blog, link is in the description if you are interested. All the best!
its like point click adventure game puzzle. it seems it's not easy to do this without sync tool
What dash is that ?
KOSO RX2N+
リアテールの斜めに光る灯火類は自作ですか?
It's just the frequency of the LED synchronizing with the camera frame rate, they are normal LED in person.
Hola mi estimado quisiera saber cuántas vueltas se le da al tornillo de aire (pilot-screw) si me encuentro en sierra ... Buen video!
This has to be the best looking mc22 I've ever seen 😍😱

what rear end is that mate?

@@Godspeedworks youre a ledge mate!!
Do you only balance them at idle? What happens at WOT?
Yes only at idle. All you are doing is aligning the position of each butterfly valve in the throttle body so that they allow the same amount of air into the engine at the given throttle position. Balancing them at WOT or even partial throttle would be pointless IMO
@@Godspeedworks The vanes are aligned at idle because it allows greater accuracy to be achieved in balancing them . They move sympathetically once aligned with respect to the one that is a "REFERENCE" .
Youre bike sounds damn good
Hello friend how can I synchronize my CBR MC22 please help.
Sweet.
Can I share RPM Speedmeter panel information?
KOSO RX2N+
Thx
Hi Tom, really nice exhaust system. Sounds very good!
Thanks !
What are the thick vertical hoses (not the trumpets), my bikes been sitting for a bit and fuel is coming out of it

Could you do a video of all the mods you have done to the mc22?
Hi cool vid, does anyone know what kind of dash that is?
